didn't you hear? Cole is better than Messi, who previously was the best player in the world

Torres loves Liverpool more than any other club in the world, and now Gerrard's back to dominating bitches like he used to

AND we just signed Poulsen to kick the fuck out of opponents' legs

also, did you see LUCAS dominate the US midfield the other night? Pure. class.

if this bullshit Hleb + 12 mil for Masch rumor is for real, then Liverpool got fucked over; Hleb is no better than any of the midfielders they currently have, he'll never get off the bench

So DirecTV has finally added Fox Soccer Channel HD yesterday. And earlier this month they added GolTV-HD (the English speaking version).

Great news!

If Balotelli scores the winner in the Manchester derby I'm gonna lol so hard.

I'm also gonna lol pretty hard if he ruins Man City's locker room too.

Pretty win win for me.

Just watched the first half of England's U-21 match against Uzbekistan from Tuesday. Victor Moses looked stellar on the left side. Great ball control, speed, and dribbling.

so somebody help me clarify this, everybody keeps saying City's going to have to cut players for the new rules but I was looking at their roster and if you add up only the guys who get playing time and aren't out on loan + Milner/Balotelli, you get 25. What am I missing? I guess they'll have a 3rd keeper and maybe keep a few of the younger players, but that's still not the huge forced fire sale like the media makes it out to be

1. Shay Given (vice-captain)
2 Micah Richards
3. Wayne Bridge
4. Pablo Zabaleta
5. Michael Johnson
6. Emmanuel Adebayor
7. Adam Johnson
8. Jerome Boateng
9. Gareth Barry
10. Joleon Lescott
11. David Silva
12. Patrick Vieira
13. Kolo Touré
14. Joe Hart
15. Carlos Tévez
16. Vincent Kompany
17. Nigel de Jong
18. Yaya Touré
19. Mario Balotelli
20. James Milner
21. Stephen Ireland
22. Shaun Wright-Phillips
23. Robinho
24. Roque Santa Cruz
25. Craig Bellamy

Other bitches:

Felipe Caicedo
Stuart Taylor
Aleksandar Kolarov
David González

Kelvin Etuhu
Shaleum Logan
Javan Vidal
Dedryck Boyata
Vladimír Weiss
Alex Nimely
Greg Cunningham
Abdisalam Ibrahim

^ holy shit to that, here's a link to the report. could easily make the BB pic in that link a dat ass

^ Because 8 of those players have to be home grown, and City's talking about getting rid of:

Wayne Bridge
SWP
Ireland
Bellamy

Kolarov is going to be in the 25, no doubt about it. So is Weiss. None of those other players are good enough.

Basically City's selling off a portion of their homegrown players and replacing them with foreigners, which is not OK by the new rules.

yeah but I thought they were okay in the home grown category

Given, Hart, Richards, Lescott, Bridge, Johnson, Barry, and Milner (when they get him) make 8

and they don't have to cut the other players, they can just restrict them to Europa League and domestic tournaments, right? Or just put them in the reserves

[Edited on August 13, 2010 at 8:33 AM. Reason : and Taylor as a 3rd GK is also English]

I can't wait until tomorrow. Probably the most excited I've been for a EPL season to start. Guess I'm still on the World Cup high. Some really good matchups this first week, too.

Thank God I'm back on the east coast so I don't have to deal with the games at 4:30am bullshit.

Good for Tevez, seems like the right move for him. He wants to spend time with his family, can't fault him for that. You gotta do what makes you happy. I'm sure he won't be hurting for money either, he can just retire while he is still good and enjoy life instead of trying to string out a career forever and retire only because teams won't take him anymore.

^^ yeah, I didn't plan very well, I'm taking a section of the CPA exam in a week and I really should be studying all day tomorrow

but I'll be up at 7:30 and plan to watch some of every game on tomorrow and if I'm not too tired of soccer, I'll probably even watch some of that Red Bulls-Galaxy game tomorrow night. And then of course, Liverpool-Arsenal the next day

I'm pretty pumped to see what Spurs can do against the new look Citeh.

Also, congrats to Bradley, it sucks for us, but it ends up being another small move to legitimacy for our country in the soccer world. I hope he can make the US proud.

It was just rumors earlier this morning. I don't really want him to take it because I think it's a no-win situation for him. I wouldn't mind seeing his son there though, his game would fit the league so well

I think it's like 4 players that have trained at the club and 8 total that have trained 3+ years at any club in England (according to Football Manager anyway)
