We'll probably collapse when syracuse turns up the defensive pressure, but at least we saw a glimmer of good play against a good team.



Painter and Howell need to fucking step up. They have to keep vandy off the floor with good play. They are catching the ball close but not getting points out of it. At least we are finding leslie. If leslie can be the scorer down low, howell and painter need to focus solely on finding a body and boxing out.

I still can't believe people are hating on Vandenberg in this game. He is singlehandedly keeping Syracuse out of the post, and they're shooting like crap from further out.

What the fuck are you expecting of him? Make Tracy Smith-like moves to move around his man? We don't need to. As someone said earlier, he doesn't even need to dribble on offense, just make a good pass to kick back out. He flubbed one pass earlier in the corner, but he was triple teamed. Painter is not an offensive threat, and he gets walked all over on defense. Howell or Leslie work well as scorers down low. Leslie probably moreso this game.

Javi has to be feeling pretty shitty sitting on the bench for most of the half.

Truth is that he pretty much gives us nothing on the offensive end. When going against above average guards, he has a negative effect on the floor. As long as Harrow is playing somewhat under control, he should be getting the lion's share of the minutes. Sorry Javi, you've served us well, but if the game is competitive, you're only good for a breather for Harrow or Brown.

I just love how Vandy is such a spaz. Honestly I'm impressed with what improvement he has shown, regardless of how sucky he may still be. But he seriously freaks out more often than not when the ball is passed to him lol

Vandy is responsible for at least about 5 turnovers, and has given up 3 easy post scores. He is just too slow and either gets screened out of the play or is late on help defense.


CJ leslie has been the fucking man inside on both ends. He is the only one who can elevate and grab the ball.

We have to play Vandy as a threat, even if it's just to create shooting opportunities, because we don't have Tracy and despite the turnovers, we need to create that REAL REAL WOOD look. Otherwise we are one-dimensionally driving and bricking like at the beginning of the game. If we do that, we have no chance of winning. It's obvious that Vandy is sloppy, but he can still help us win this game. I'll take the turnovers and ugly dunks if it gets CJL, WOOD, and HARROW some points.
