I am fairly annoyed to still be subjected to Leroy's radio ads attacking Willard for being pro-choice back in the day. Granted, I am listening to Rush Radio at the time, but nevermind that little detail. 1/31/2012 9:24:22 PM |

Popular media reports according to popular interest because ad dollars. Dude who polls at ~12% with little to no change is not public interest, he's a niche market. The media doesn't care what he says unless there's some semi-objective measure by which he's actually causing a stir (saying things that should cause a stir but don't do not count). Profit-driven networks choose their stories using focus groups, opinion polls, and ratings feedback, they don't care what the candidate in question actually says as long as they're popular enough to warrant spinning a story out of it.
Most networks had a laugh on air the first time Ron Paul won a poll on their website, now they don't bother because it's simply common knowledge he's the messiah of neckbearded basement dwellers to whom WoW taught the value of sound currency.

trump to endorse newt according to politico
http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2012/02/trump-to-endorse-newt-113227.html
newt/trump/cain- 3 peas in a pod
obligatory obama/alinsky/ayers
honestly at this point, i just hope the GOP picks anyone but him(gingrich). Out of the 3 that could potentially get the nomination, i'd go romney, santorum, gingrich.

...and rightly so--he would be 10x worse than Newt. 2/1/2012 10:59:30 PM |

Nobody does. This one is a done deal, barring some catastrophic Romney implosion (like, he turns out to be a Ponzi-scheming pedophile or something).
...and then, I think it goes to Newt.
Paul will continue to be an influence and continue to never, ever have any chance at the GOP nomination unless the other 3 all suddenly drop dead, and even then someone else would jump into the race late.
Barring some hypothetical, silly scenario like that, Santorum will not even be a significant factor. Also, he's a huge douche. 2/1/2012 11:10:10 PM |

I wouldn't count out Newt just yet.
The sonofabitch is very clearly on his war-path, and he'll say/do anything to crawl back in to this. Likely, Santorum will froth out very soon and endorse Gingrich. Palin, Trump, and shit stains like Allen West will endorse Gingrich too. And with that much of the radical-right behind the Newtster, they'll try to frame this election as a culture war between the big bad food-stamp liberal vs. good honest Americans (wink, wink) and it'll be hard to shut him up.

i can see conservatives rallying around santorum if gingrich suddenly tanks. a vast majority of conservatives would rally behind santorum rather than paul if a situation like that happened. i'm not saying it's likely but i'd say its more plausible than paul getting that 70% that doesn't want romney
in my order i'd have romney, paul, santorum, newt. but paul isn't actually a potential choice for the republican nomination(because he's a niche candidate)

I'm kinda hoping for the Santorum to spread even further. The fact that he's even being discussed means that there's still a cancer thriving within the GOP that needs to be annihilated. I want him to make Walter Mondale look like a real contender. I said in '08 that we needed to kill the GOP in order to save it...that thrashing did spawn the Tea Party, but that didn't last long before it rolled over for the same old dipshits. It appears that more severe national embarrassment is in order. 2/22/2012 5:51:57 PM |

US Oil production has been increasing since 2008, something that hasn't happened since the '80s. Doesn't mean gas prices are going down or supply is increasing though. OPEC, Iran, middle east tensions, etc. has way more to do with gas prices. The US is also exporting more and importing less compared to a few years ago.

Fox News. Saw a clip from Rachel Maddow where Karl Rove was on there saying exactly that: "Obama is against American oil and American energy." They parrot the same lies all day long knowing that no one who watches that tripe will take the time to fact check them. Then their viewers repeat the lies ad nauseam and nod their heads in agreement that Obama is a secret muslim socialist against christianity, oil, and apple pie.2/23/2012 8:49:41 AM |

Actually this is a case where both MSNBC and Fox were giving airtime and legitimacy to those spreading the same misinformation. Difference is that MSNBC points and laughs at an otherwise top-level conservative voices, whereas Fox finds patsies like Colmes to make sure its viewers only perceive a mewling caricature of the left.
