Well that three game win streak was fun when we looked like a confident hard-to-play-against team.

Back to ol' tried and true dump-and-chase...

You know, it's interesting. I hate me some Paul Maurice, but during the win streak, I felt that the big difference was our defense playing well. I don't feel that the offense really played any differently than what they usually do. And now that the defense is OMGWTFJAZZHANDS... our system suddenly looks just as flawed as it's always been.

Long story short: I hate our system of play. I love winning, but I still hate our system of play.

Another observation: The only person that I feel our team looks to any more is riding the bench because it's his "rest day." Staal has yet to find his grove this season and I don't think that right now ANYone can put the team on their back and trudge through 60 minutes... except Cam Ward.

And even then... I mean he's a great goalie, but a goalie can't score goals. (Okay a FEW goalies can, but it's not gonna happen every game)

No, we signed him for his off-the-ice and clubhouse presence. What he does on the ice doesn't matter to JR or we would have cut him 3 years ago. Sad.

Staal is a -10 with 4 pts. Sutter is +1 with 4 pts (and with a fraction of the PP minutes Staal has). I think it's time for a switch. Let Sutter play on the top line and demote Staal to the second line. Hopefully it will light a fire in his ass.

Haha, Habs would never make that deal. Cole has been bad for what, 7 games? Kaberle has been horrible since his trade to the Bruins last year. We'd have to give up a prospect too and I dont see that happening.

Just got back from the game as well, and the only thing I thought was good was the driver of the Caniac Coach taking requests on where to make drops on the way back.

Sutter is arguably the 3rd best player on the team. In my opinion, he outplays Staal on a regular basis. Why not put him on the top line?
