some State fans like to say they want to win more than the bball team...i disagree with that

however I do think most Dale Jr. fans want him to win than he does

^^you'd be surprised how many of those bottle are filled with water.

i know for a fact that when Dale Jr is shown drinking a twist off Amp that it's filled with water. same with Kyle Busch when he used to drink Nos after wins.

Penske jumping to Fords in '13....good move for the team. Probably going to put Dodge in another hiatus for a few years unless they can throw some serious money at another team.

danicash managed to go a whole race without crashing but finished 3 laps down. She refused to talk to the media after the race, so we may never know why she thinks she was so damn slow all day.

Quote :
"Earnhardt Jr. suggested an inconsistent tire contributed to the team's troubles.

"The track has aged a little bit, and it's going to age a lot out here in this desert," he said after finishing 14th. "So it's time to soften the tire up and do something different with this tire. It's greasy; it don't get into the track. It just lays grease like a film on top of the track, and it's just real slick.""

Dear Jr,

it's supposed to be difficult to drive. if it wasn't then you guys wouldn't get paid millions of dollars. man up and stop making excuses. damn

everyone hated the tires, especially the right sides. When you're on an oval and only changing left sides then the right side is way too hard.

Some "crazy" ideas i have to make nascar better:

1. caution laps dont count with less than 10 to go.
2. let all the odd numbered positions have lane choice on a restart not just the leader.
3. guaranteed restart with 5% of the race to go. screw a fuel mileage race.
4. random initial starting order. why should the fastest car start at the front if you want to see passing? still have qualifying for the pit stall selection and to see who makes the race out of the top 35.
5. no air tools on pit stops. make em use a 4-way
6. six bonus points for a win instead of 3

Hmmm.......anybody watch the Nationwide race today and hear Danica Patrick's symposium of the thermodynamics of an internal combustion engine after something knocked a hole in her radiator?? "...when the water goes away, there's no heat to heat the engine up. So then it gets to the coolant and the coolant cools it down....." She said she got this valuable info from "the Hendricks guys". I'm sure they were very proud of her. ;-)

It was good to see racing at the Rock again. I just looked at the truck series schedule and it only has 22 races listed. I think it used to be 25. They should add some more races to the schedule and bring back North Wilkesboro.

^this

it also grinds my gears that they keep adding more down force dates to the schedules when short tracks have better races.

^ the sanctioning fees are too high so it's hard for the tracks to have Truck races where they're not piggybacking off NASCAR and not lose money on it; that said, big crowd at Rockingham yesterday I thought and good to see racing back at the Rock again

"The Key Moment – With 31 laps left to run, Greg Biffle made a banzai pass on Jimmie Johnson for the lead. Johnson had been struggling with lapped traffic most notably in the person of one Ryan Newman. The pass caused such a stir amongst the nearly dozens of fans left awake in the grandstands it woke up several others in their respective rows. Sixteen laps later Johnson, slapped the wall to all but seal the deal for Biffle.

In a Nutshell – I’ve seen better racing contests between amphibians. Putrid, utterly and relentlessly putrid to a degree that redefines putridity.

What They’ll Be Talking About Around the Water Cooler This Week
Any more questions as to whether these 1.5-mile cookie cutters are destroying a once exciting sport?

Humpy Wheeler, NASCAR visionary and ex-head honcho at Charlotte, spoke about his own unique ideas on how to fix the racing at the intermediate tracks this week. Wheeler proposed that the field compete in several heat type races with the best finishers heading to the main event, a format used at most local short tracks. (And, of course, a “consolation” race for those not qualified for the main after the heats.) Run the main event for a short distance for all the marbles and let them have at it, basically ensuring four or five good races at an event rather than one long boring one like Saturday night’s debacle. I’m not sure how that would work as far as the points system, but I’m willing to try anything to avoid another “race” as monotonous as what we endured Saturday.

Overall Rating (On a scale of one to six beer cans, with one being a stinker and a six pack an instant classic) — We’ll give this race one can of tepid Lone Star you have to share with a dying cowboy in the backseat of a Greyhound bus out of Abilene. (Few people outside of Texas may realize that Lone Star is the only product to be marketed both as a beer and a paint thinner.) "

What about the Nationwide series? I would think they could draw a good enough crowd at North Wilkesboro. Maybe they could do a Nationwide/Truck/Southern Modified two day event. NASCAR has changed over the past 15 years. It seems like more and more drivers from the cup series are racing in the lower divisions too. You get to see a lot of the same drivers no matter what series you go to see in person.

"

Which a lot of fans hated because you never get to see anyone develop in the minor leagues which is part of their raison d'etre, the Cup drivers took all the sponsorship money since they're higher-profile leaving nothing for anyone else, all the Cup drivers of course got the best rides, no Nationwide driver got the marketing benefit of being a Nationwide series champion, so NASCAR changed the rules to make Cup drivers ineligible for the lower series championships which has led to less drivers from Cup racing in the two lower divisions the last couple years. The damage has been done when you look at the complete lack of new drivers in Cup that have stuck around in recent years. This year's Rookie of the Year will be start-and-parker Josh Wise, which is somehow worse than when Kevin Conway won it. Going back to 2010, there's been no one that's come in fresh and has stuck, and I imagine that'll hold for 2012 since I don't think Josh Wise is going to get a better ride.

And for guys that occasionally compete in Cup, even Trevor Bayne who won the 2011 Daytona 500 can't find a sponsor for Nationwide and had to sit out last weekend despite being high in points. I have to think people like Stenhouse (imagine he ranks higher in Ford's internal ranking system than Bayne) and Allgaier will move up within the next year or so provided the ride and money is there, Patrick will move up because she has a pretty face, and Austin Dillon will move up due to nepotism, but the past few years for plucking talent from the lower ranks has been almost nonexistant.

this guy filed suit saying he was kicked out of nascars drive for diversity program but he looks too white. Even if true he has no case obviously. Thousands of white drivers couldnt even try out. Thats the point.
