I'm sure some of the talk is trolling, but a lot of it isn't. Some of it is over the top, but some is certainly valid. I've never bitched about Ward because there are bigger fish to fry and he isn't going anywhere for a long time, but for a guy who is the 4th highest paid goaltender in the NHL, I can't say I've ever thought he is one of the five best in the league.

eh, i think he's a good-to-awesome goalie depending on his night, with flashes of straight up greatness at times.

I do think he's shown some rust, but our defense has left him hanging out to dry at times too. He may need another game or two to find his rhythm.

Cam is overpaid. He plays like a top half of the league goalie, and then he has these streaks of greatness that makes him play like a top 5. I remember the movie quote from Miracle when they were talking about Jim Craig, something along the lines of "Have you seen him play when he's on?" Cam Ward is our Jim Craig. Just wish he went into beast mode a little more often.

This was an interesting point. Who does everyone actually consider to be the top five goalies in the league? Obviously, you have to include Lundqvist. But after that, who? Rinne? Quick? Howard?

It just seems like a lot of the starting guys today are pretty inconsistent. Granted, I know that comes with the position a lot of the time, but I'm not sure I could come up with a definitive list of the top five starting goalies in the league today.
