Allow me to try

Richardson is a fringe starting RB and RBs shouldn't be drafted til the 4th round or later anyway. Great trade for the Browns

Honestly Richardson is a great fantasy running back because the Browns fed him a lot of carries, but 3.5ypc isn't that good and in his whole brief NFL career, he's had exactly 2 rushes for more than 20 yards

Yes, Richardson averages 3.5 YPC...but he's had 0 QB play(McCoy, Wallace, Weeden, Lewis), so he sees nothing but a stacked box every down. No way teams will just load the box to stop him knowing the team has Luck/Wayne/Hilton to deal with. Richardson will get less carries, but higher YPC and likely more TDs. The only thing that could hamper Richardson's fantasy value, is if Bradshaw steals touches(no one was taking them in Cleveland). Plus Richardson is solid at picking up the blitz, so the Colts got exactly the type of RB they'd want, can get the power running game going which is Pep Hamilton's goal with his offense, can catch out of the backfield fairly well which gives Luck another option, and is good at pass protection. No way they find a RB of his quality at, likely, the 18-22 pick of the draft.

Browns are likely going to be in the running for the top 2 picks, likely thinking they can use the 2 picks to either move up ahead of the Jags if necessary, or pick their new franchise QB and then pick a RB or WR with their 2nd pick. Could depend on how McGahee does. Stinks for Browns fans because they have an above-average D, had a solid RB, were just really a QB and perhaps a go-to WR from having a solid team. Still not sure why they wasted that pick on Weeden, everyone knew he'd fail and/or would be a short-term deal.

Panthers should just tank out and go for #1 overall pick, then wait for the trade offers from Browns for both their first round picks. End up like STL after the Redskins trade where they made out like bandits.

this trade is terrible. especially for the colts. it's great for the browns though, they are going to suck anyways, so they might as well recoup some value for richardson, who wasn't worth a top 5 pick and they could very well end up with a mid-1st round pick for him.

the colts should have just signed mcgahee instead, and drafted a RB next year in the middle of the draft (who would probably be just as good as richardson).

[Edited on September 19, 2013 at 10:42 AM. Reason : i bet the browns are going after bridgewater, not manziel.]

The one thing about the Browns bailing on the season so soon is that their division is actually pretty weak this year as Baltimore is much worse, the Steelers actually look bad, and the Bengals are talented, but flawed. Just seems too soon to give up. Oh well that is Cleveland sports for you.

i honestly don't think they are giving up on the season.

signing mcgahee for richardson isn't that much of a downgrade.

plus when they get a first round draft pick? they would have to be retarded not to take that deal. i seriously doubt they were shopping richardson, sounds like the colts just really, really wanted him.

LOL @ McGahee not being much of a downgrade over Richardson. He got cut by the Broncos and the Giants passed on him.

what I mean by that is that this year, the difference between the two might not even be worth one single win.

they now have multiple first and third round picks (I think) and can draft somebody just as good as Richardson for next year.

Richardson is a powerful runner, but he doesn't have very good vision and that will keep him from being a great nfl rb.

I think they will try and get that #1 pick but I dont think they get it or use it on a QB.

Listening to the front office talk, they keep mentioning salary cap, salary cap, salary cap.

I think they may try and bring in some high profile QB, use the two picks on running backs/O line where they need the help and rebuild from there.

They have a decent WR/TE and their Defense is actually not terrible.

Pull in a stud O line in the off season and get to rebuilding.

Manziel will not be a NFL qb of quality...he is too frail...so I hope they arent setting up to draft him.

Hmmm, McCoy holding his...shin. That could be a really bad injury.

Nope, walking off to the locker room. So at least he didn't have a Kevin Ware going on.

The Chiefs actually have a very good defense, but the offense looks inept. Eagles are dropping 8 and forcing Smith to throw underneath and play very conservative. Smith hasn't thrown much of anything deeper than 10 yards down field.

Man, Eric Berry almost had another pick. He's having a hell of a game.

Guess I'm just not expecting other QBs to go test driving cars 5 hours before a game. If that's old hat for NFL players, then I apologize for not being tuned into the normal pregame routine of starting QBs

Very impressive showing from Indy today. Tough to go on the road to the west coast and put up this kind of physical performance against SF.

49ers offense has gotten pretty predictable and easy to cover. Not as much read option, not as many designed runs, and missing almost all their perimeter weapons.

Hahaha, Jets are imploding in the 4th quarter. Stevie Johnson has baited their secondary into about 50 yards of penalties on a single drive.
