Could we hit 12 today?...they got added to the Russell 2000 last week, and there was a ton of buying through close Friday with funds rebalancing

nice, I have a good bit of DDD.

A thought I had is that, with markets pretty much at all-time highs and going into a long weekend, it might be worth selling covered calls on everything I have enough shares to write a contract on. I expect that we'll be flat going into the weekend, at best, so I'd just collect the premium. Worst case, I sell a bunch of stuff at all-time highs and buy it back later.

The only exception would be anything that is out of phase with the broader markets, or is currently beaten down on bad news or something.

It's pointless to sell covered calls in such a low vol environment. Add the fact that the hiccup in May/June now appears to be over with the market looking to run some more bolstered by improving economic and it just doesn't make sense from a risk reward perspective. Do you really want to potentially cap your upside drastically for pennies?

I'm hating life because I was going to really load up on MU in the $22 range a few months ago and was eyeing DDD at $50 and work just got in the way. I should just put in GTC limit orders after hours and forget about it rather than trying to trim nickels/quarters off the entry points intraday. It's cost me probably $6-7000 on those two plays alone (not to mention a missed entry doing the same stupid shit on CVS last year).

I look at the data and charts and pick pretty good areas for entry points and then fucking blow it at the last second...like picking up a pageant queen and getting her back to my place only to whip out a limp dick when it's time.

wait, is that USEC? Wonder what happened. We've worked on projects for them for years that just never get off the ground. They typically run out of money and then wait to get more government funding

Based on this thread, you've been on an incredulous run of stock picking. Your last one being a big
whopper. What was it about that stock that made you pick it the day before it went on a 50% gain?

^ Whole Foods seems like a good buy, but I think all the regular BigAg business has encroached and you can now find "natural" cheetos and shit like that. The BigAg companies have picked off the middle class shoppers that want to eat better with products like that, and campaigns about Fresh Walmart peaches.

Been fucking around with small amounts of options. Been losing overall this year by about 10%, but there have been a couple of exciting $100 investments that turned into $1000.

INO supposedly will release their PII results at the big vaccine conference early next week...I would assume a Monday morning 4am PR prior

a guy that writes for Seeking Alpha and interviewed their CEO a month or two ago tweeted a few days ago some pretty specific numbers (good ones) on the results. and that they have a big pharma partner locked up for PIII..he's a doctoral student somewhere and I would assume he works with a professor that has a connection to INO so I don't think he's bullshitting...he has tweeted things in the past before they were public knowledge regarding INO

also they didn't issue an afterhours Friday PR...which ususally is the case when biotechs (or any other company) have bad news

I'm still holding all of my shares...anyone else still holding any?

I feel pretty confident that the results aren't going to be negative...guess we will find out in a couple of days

Where are they getting their ideas? You guys are day trading companies with market caps of 75 million dollars and you are somehow getting in around big moves in the stock? I doubt any of you are doing this on your own.

I have about 75 shares after the split. Still low enough pps to sit around and wait for the good news....hopefully.

Sold everything else I had when it jumped really high a couple months ago.

i'm not sure what to tell you - i work for a software company - this is just a fun / play fund for me (as well as the people at work that i talk with) - i'm willing to be risky with it and see what happens - notice how i didn't post any of my losers throughout the week

my other gamble for today was SWKS but it didn't really pay off

INO making a nice run leading into results...up ~25% since Friday close

most of their people are supposed to be presenting tomorrow, near the end of the conference...that's likely when they announce results, although there could be another 4am PR tomorrow prior to that

The guy that I was talking about above that posted on twitter about INO a couple of weeks ago says that some sub-groups in the study had much higher response rates. That will be discussed at the conference today.

Wouldn't be suprised to see $20/share today, especially if they announce a partner

also, as of last week ~15% of shares were short (9,000,000)...that's a lot that will have to cover
