Considering it's an active and ongoing police investigation I'm going to say that most questions that could possibly arise have not been answered.

There is absolutely no reason to posit anything until the police release a report. Anything else is completely blind speculation that is based on nothing more than the whims of conspiratorially minded people.

^^^obviously there is a correlation between guns in the population and gun deaths. that doesn't mean anything in the context of whether gun violence itself has a larger, underlying cause.
