Liberty beating Coastal has to be good for our RPI, right?

Liberty just playing coastal with a high winning percentage will help our RPI more than if they played like a 4-5 SEC team. The win or loss relative to RPI is very insignificant with this many games played and sometimes a team you beat losing actually will help your RPI more than if they won. RPI is the worst metric used in sports. Should never be used to determine anything of significance.

To be fair, I feel like all W-L records come with an asterisk this year. 4-6 vs a 10 game SEC schedule isnt terrible. It’s not *that* good. But it’s not like winning 4 games in a season with a traditional schedule. I mean, they are favored. I want to win and i will be disappointed if we don’t. But I don’t think Kentucky’s record is neither here nor there.

Win or loss this isn’t program defining or season defining. A win going into the offseason would be fun a fun make us all feel good and probably result in a top 20 end of year ranking. And very likely a preseason top 25 ranking. All of that would be good for recruiting and excitement and perception. But a loss isn’t really equally as bad in the opposite direction. The loss doesn’t really have any major consequences. But a win would be a really fun, nice boost going into the offseason.

Our punt defense/return/whatever is inexplicably bad. The opposing punter is able to wait for coverage to get downfield before punting with no pressure. I get not wanting penalties but there has to be a rush.

Hockman been bad all day. Seems like zone coverage is what he struggles most with.

Also fuck a offsetting penalty. I know refs need to control the game but at some point figure out who is instigating it all and flag them

Hockman has gotten away with plenty. He’s also been perfectly serviceable in several games. It’s not all because the other just always drops picks. There’s some nuance to it. He’s made some great plays and throws (particularly remembering some vs Cuse). But yeah he’s not a great QB. But that doesn’t mean he’s bad every game

This is exactly how our season should end. Hockman sucks, we still aren’t running the ball as well as we should be, and our defense is at best mediocre and absolutely crippled by passive schemes as far as secondary play is concerned. If Kentucky could pass worth a shit we would have been blown out in the first half.

I have hope for Leary, the offense actually had direction with him in charge. But this weird year inflated our record no doubt. I don’t know what our schedule is offhand but let’s say our O/U was 7.5 next season I would have a real hard time betting the over.

Any speculation on if Beck is going to be poached? We clearly are his image rehab job.
