I saw the Dr. character in an interview the other day and even he didn't seem convinced that the writers weren't just making this shit up as they went along. I wasted 4 or 5 hours of my life on this show during the first season then said "this is stupid, no more".

in the pilot episode (number 1) right when that guy gets sucked into the turbine and it blows up...you can see something swooping down right over the turbine right before it blows up. i'm convinced it is the "monster"/black smoke but others have told me its supposedly a glitch...
