They also seem to be forgetting why some of these players have stuck around. Lol.

I liked that shit talking cartoon someone posted awhile back. When we talk shit back, and the ask what bowl games we've been to the last three years, tell them we've been champions of the last three consecutive score board bowls against UNC.

That shit was gold.

If UNC starts a QB not named TJ Yates they might stand a chance at beating us.

Luckily, he's not been implicated in either prong of the UNC/NCAA investigation (hint, hint). See the quality of players you can get without cheating, UNC?

Bruce Pearl fined $2 million and not allowed to recruit off campus for a year, I thought they just got NCAA notice yesterday, how did they reach that conclusion so fast?

Were there supposed to be quotation marks around "Souls"? Looks like they got painted over.

The soles pun isn't obvious enough.

"Faculty Council shares concerns about UNC football

Friday marked the first meeting of the year for the University of North Carolina Faculty Council. This was the first chance for Chancellor Holden Thorp to address the faculty directly about the investigation into the football program.

“I’m sorry that we are in this position,” Thorp said to the room full of faculty members who pride themselves on the high academic standards of the university.

“What I worry about is the value of the degree,” former faculty chair Joe Templeton said.

Thorp says university officials were extremely concerned about the NCAA investigation into football players getting improper benefits from agents, but the allegations of cheating later uncovered took the concern to a whole new level.

“Our academic integrity is more important to us than winning any football game,” Thorp said.

One faculty member asked if Carolina's quest to be an elite football program was interfering with its academic goals.

“It seems to me there is still a danger of the tail wagging the dog,” faculty member Steve Bachenheimer said.

Thorp says he's weighing those types of perceptions as the investigation moves forward.

He also talked about the more than three months pay given to former coach John Blake, who resigned on Sunday. Thorp says the pay is consistent with other non-faculty members who leave the university.

Templeton says he's confident that the chancellor and the rest of those involved in the investigation will protect Carolina's name.

“I’m optimistic we will come out of this with the value of the degree intact and possibly higher if we respond entirely appropriately,” Templeton said.

After the Board of Governors meeting Friday, UNC president Erskine Bowles said he's confident Chapel Hill can have a top-rate football team while maintaining the school's academic integrity and that the university can learn from the crisis.

“I want us to have a culture. I want us to have the processes in place. I want us to have the supervision in place that this never happens again. And I think it’s not impossible by any stretch of the imagination to have a first-rate program and to do it right,” Bowles said.

The eligibility of the 13 players who sat out for the game against LSU remains unclear, and those found to be involved in the infractions could go before the university honor court, Thorp said."

So all this cheating might possibly make a UNC degree even more valuable and prestigious

damned if you do, damned if you don't...either they get off scott free, or the university looks better for not letting football be more important than academics.

each scenario results in UNC being please with themselves

although I must say UNC fans are way worse than UNC students, so I'd rather the students be able to brag about their school than fans who never went there be able to brag about the team

I'm personally all for unc-ch taking the "acedemics are more important than sports" route.

Vandy, Duke, and Rice could all very well be in a Harvard of the South League

But IMO, UNC does not stack up against them academically. I think it would have to be an all private league, let them have Wake Forest too, but then that would mean WF being the best football team lol

So lets all discuss these words for a moment;

"The plan right now, is for Davis to remain our coach."

Does this not scream, "We about to fire his ass."

One of my buddies said that he heard "the story" was some girl was hired on into some athletic support role and within a month, had the football team run the train on her, complete with cell phone videos that got passed around. She was subsequently fired. I'll ask and see what else I can find out later.
