Actually they'd probably rule it a goaltend and go to the monitor to see how much time to put back on the clock. At the very best we get a highly controversial win on a no call. Dumb play and we got burned again by it.

Gottfried has not done a great job with this team. He was fortunate to walk into such a great situation , and he's done a great job in recruiting to keep the momentum alive... But next year is a fairly lean roster that will expose some of his flaws.

Personally, I think he will continue to recruit well for the next couple of years so if we make some noise we will have a chance to be good under him again in 2-3 years but its really hard to say at this point. It's just too early to make judgment either way.

I'd be somewhat surprised (but glad because it means he's been successful) if he's still our coach in ten years. When the results don't match the recruiting sometimes the recruiting suffers. And then your program regresses. Happens all the time to coaches who are better recruiters than coaches

i just rewound the DVR to watch that play in slo-mo

if he gets a fingertip on it, the ball is still on its way up, so it wouldnt have been a goaltend, and there wouldve been about 1.5 seconds starting with a loose ball

so yeah, maryland probably has the clock run out on them

i mean i guess the refs couldve blown the call and called it a goaltend, but then you all would be frothing at the mouth over a blown referee call instead of hating on one of our players for trying

20-63 road record in Tuscaloosa. 5-7 at State not comparable, but 84 at home on Saturday vs Duke and 50 tonight vs Maryland is.


We should have fouled. Period. Foul while he is dribbling he puts the ball back in with 2.0 seconds left, this never happened.

I'm not mad we lost I'm just angry about how we lost with a pathetic pathetic showing and a mcdonalds all american did not play. If everyone in the game is sucking it makes sense to try other players. Maybe lewis was being disciplined for something off the court and if thats the case then I understand the coaching move.

We did change things up. That 2-3 zone we used in the 2nd half is a big reason why we were even able to come back and take the lead.

Defense goes entirely on Gott. We've got the horses to have an AVERAGE defense at the least. Its okay to have a lapse every now and then...but the entire game is defensive lapse after defensive lapse. It's fucking pathetic.

I think our offense is still fine. We hit 80 last night missing a ton of free throws and chip shots left and right. Wake Forest is a shitty defensive team...but we should have had an easy 100...which is good against any opponent.

Our defense is still concerning. Was Lutz a shitty defensive coach at Charlotte?? Someone needs to step up and shake the shit out of these players!

I remember reading several articles before the season started basically saying our biggest problem was gonna be playing time and selfishness and how Gott would handle that. Basically we became too good too fast talent wise. So now we are running basically a six man rotation and have no depth. I was really hoping between the Okla St. game and the Maryland game these guys would have figured out that playing like we have been isnt gonna get it done night in and night out. Then I watched the Clemson game, then last night, they still havent figured it out and we are running out of time now to get this shit turned around .

The funny thing is tdt got lit up in the wake game last year. He was the worst player on the court.


He's not wrong so far about gottfried, he's having an awful year coaching , but he started out bad last year too. Hopefully he can swallow his pride and start making adjustments.
