I didn't see in the article if there was a "No bombs allowed" sign posted outside the courthouse. Maybe we could've prevented this one too.

i suppose you believe their claim that it was actually planted by Moms Demand Action group?

i never claimed it was one of those idiots, we have no reason to suspect that, but its another great example of why their protest is retarded and why people would rather not have guns in their newborn department

why do guns rights supporters seem to take legitimate glee when a shooting takes place in a gun free zone?

I don't support this stupid protest. Not one bit. I think it is retarded and I think it will give those who are responsible a bad name. There is no reason to open carry in Target. Or Chipotle. Or any other place like that. You are just going to have some scared person call the cops on you.

That is such horseshit, gun rights supporters do not take any glee when a shooting takes place. Showing how stupid gun control tactics like gun free zones clearly do nothing to stop gun crime does not equal taking glee in the shooting. The only people who believe that are the same people who think a no gun sign actually stops gun crime.

An amusing anecdote that demonstrates the known fact that guns are inherently dangerous even around trained professionals.

Rule #1: All guns are loaded. Always.

Corollary to Rule #1: Any gun which you have personally unloaded and subsequently let out of your sight is loaded again.

This is no more evidence of "inherently dangerous" than a kid that gets run over by his parent backing down the driveway when the parent wasn't looking behind the car "because the kid wasn't there 5 minutes ago"

^^

1. Treat every weapon as if it is loaded.
2. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot.
3. Keep your weapon on safe until you are ready to fire.
4. Keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire.

My 7-year old daughter can recite those 4 rules at the drop of a hat. There is no damned excuse for a cop to have an ND.

Well I think debate on this topic is pointless... I think once whites become the minority in 15 or so years the demographics and local voting will slowly move away from status quo and NRA influence. Unless the NRA has some giant wing/outreach to minorities that I don't know about. I have done no research whatsoever on this but it is better than talking about dicks.

According to Time >10 years ago:

1. Smith and Wesson .38 revolver
2. Ruger 9 mm semiautomatic
3. Lorcin Engineering .380 semiautomatic
4. Raven Arms .25 semiautomatic
5. Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun
6. Smith and Wesson 9mm semiautomatic
7. Smith and Wesson .357 revolver
8. Bryco Arms 9mm semiautomatic
9. Bryco Arms .380 semiautomatic
10. Davis Industries .380 semiautomatic

These weapons don't fit gun-control advocates' narrative, though.

Surprised there are no Hi-Points on there.

"Bennett is currently in jail in San Diego County, accused of violating the restraining order and felony stalking, as well as other charges. His next court date is Aug. 20. If convicted, his maximum sentence would be four years."

What does she need a gun for if the dude is in jail? Come back when he gets released.

because it's just jail and he has a court date in a couple weeks at which point he could be released

Since there is no reason why she should not be allowed to carry concealed when she would otherwise be allowed everywhere else, it should be allowed on campus.

Thinking back to my friends when they were freshman, I really wouldn't want anyone to have a gun nearby.

I understand the school not wanting them on campus, but this girl should be allowed to live off campus and keep one in her car, similar to NCSUs policy.

She really needs some counseling though, she seems to be a little too paranoid about this. She'll end up living her whole life in fear, and the creepy stalker would have won at that point.

I'm just pointing out that if her need to carry is to protect herself from this dude, and that dude is in jail, then she has no need....until he gets released.

but fighting for this is a process that can take days or weeks and he can get on a plan the same day he is released, so she needs to be proactive

Freshman are generally 17-18 so are not allowed to otherwise legally carry, and I doubt any of your friends have special circumstances that would allow them to get a legal waiver to carry legally under 21.

Quote :

because you are an expert on her situation? it seems like if the dude has already violated a restraining order and was found with a slip noose, a knife, gloves then her fears are not particularly paranoid.
