Anyone hear have Uncharted? I was talking to Wolfman Tim about it. I downloaded the demo but i got frustrated with the aiming system and lack of options when i got a point where about 7 bad dudes rushed me in the forest. Is it like this all the way through or does it have any puzzles like PoP? I wanted to get it when it price drops but the demo has made me weary.

Pretty boring and long winded overall. Yay for God of War 3, although they didn't really show anything. Video service launch is good news and uploading gamevideos direct to youtube seems neat. Other than that, they didn't show anything we didn't already know about before.

^^^And no, that new 80GB SKU won't have PS2 BC. It's exactly the same as the current 40GB SKU just with double the HD space.

Kinda mum so far, it's all straight laced. I do really like is the prospect of SOCOM. I love the idea of a 'massive action game' if they can pull it off.

Resistance 2 and LBP are the only other great games that have me looking forward to them outside of that.

it's mostly action...you'll run into tons of situations where you're getting rushed by hordes of enemies

nevermind...i did a little math (with rounding so don't freak out).

ps3 at $399 in september + mgs4 at $59.99 (say i missed the CC deal) + tax = $491

mgs4 version ps3 now at $499 + tax = $533 with a free download of pain i think it is and backwards compatibility

so basically is it worth $42 to have a ps3 for 2 months...i think so. i might could make $30 or so on ebay for it, but some of the ending prices are actually lower than the price + tax when shipping is included.

i had to justify the purchase...sorry

just fyi circuitcity.com and their order by phone number have the uber 1337 mgs4 edition of the 80gb for $499 in stock and it's gone EVERYWHERE else. that eliminates the risk of not having a receipt and getting a bad ps3 from someone on CL.

I seriously doubt that's what they are announcing. Until now, developers weren't allowed to write anything to the hard drive. Now they'll give the deleloper the option to do that for certain titles, but it won't be up to the end user as to how the game is installed.

Actually that is what they announced. At least from my understanding it impacts any game as an optional thing:

"Play from hard drive. You'll be able to copy game discs to your Xbox 360 hard drive. Installing the games will prevent wear 'n tear on the disc drive, and will shorten load times. You will still need the disc in the disc tray to prove you own the game."

xbox is still somewhat screwed though as far as HD capacity and disc capacity. especially now w/ installed games and buying/dl movies.

Its really cool that Sony supports upgrading the HD w/ any 2.5" sata HD and even provides the utilities to do it.

I'm gonna check out a streamed movie tonight. Sadly, i'm pretty sure it won't work right and my gf will once again be pissed that my marvels of technology are failing.

They were actually able to release something with relative urgency unlike Home or in-game communication.

Maybe next they'll actually give you guys a new feature that actually has something to do with video games! I bet they announced a ton of things like that today

One thing Sony didn't include in their conference was the reveal of Killzone 2's multiplayer mode. There is a trailer for it on the PSN and lots of details in the OP of this thread,

I thought the pricing for movies was fine. TV shows are another matter. $1.99 for a single episode is ok, however if you want to buy say, an entire season of Arrested Development, it ends up costing more than the DVD box set. They need to allow you to buy entire seasons at once for a discounted price.

I think the reason why they didn't pump Killzone2 up during Sony's presentation is becasue they want to concentrate marketing right now on Resistance 2 since they are both FPS and R2 is coming out in a few months.
