you mean in 3.0 or in the old version?

even in 3.0 it doesn't work because of at&t. i'm not sure what the deal is but i haven't read about many people if anybody who has gotten it working..

yeah, i heard it's now on AT&T to let that one fly...i don't think anyone's gotten it working on 3.0.

yeah it's really annoying. the interface is great..really simple/easy to use. they just won't send though

really f'in annoying that it's at&t's fault now. knowing those assholes they'll probably come back and try to charge more for the new "feature"

Doesn't MMS cost extra? (like $.20 per message or something, last I checked?)

Alltel chrages $0.25 send/receive picture messaging unless you have a package that covers it. With a data packages it ALWAYS included (except for the $69 package from Alltel which they don't advertise readily). With Sprint its included in that data package as part of unlimited data.

AT&T has some that are special and text only, but for the most part, it views MMS the same as any other text message.

i wonder why apple made their appointment alert times static...the only options are:

5 mins before
15 mins before
30 mins before
1 hour before
2 hours before
1 day before
2 days before
on day of event

whats so hard about letting us set our own alert times?

I too have had times where I wished I could set the reminder time specifically for various reasons but was limited to their pre-chosen times

So uhh, my volume button just fell off my 3G possibly while I was at a concert last night. I mean the long slender metal piece that you press to change the volume. I tried to get the phone replaced at the Apple Store but apparently the water sensor in the dock got set off somehow so the guy I saw said he couldn't replace it. I can't just glue it back on because I don't know where the piece fell. Any suggestions?

the worst thing about the default reminders time is the fact that when you set a reminder for an event to be an increment of a day or more before the event, it will pop up at 12am on X days before the event. I wish it was like 8am or 6am or something.

Yeah it makes sense, but I'd never really considered the possibility. Makes sense for lots of devices to have them, esp. if the manufacturer has a pretty liberal repair/replace policy.

just discovered another 3.0 feature (unless this already exists)

I was typing out a text and got a call. I answered the call and after I was done instead of going back to the phone screen it took me back to the txt message screen so i can complete my txt.

http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/03/25/apples-iphone-app-refund-policies-could-bankrupt-developers/

Quote :
"We reported yesterday about Apple’s alleged delay in payments to iPhone app developers, but there is more alarming news from iPhone developers about Apple’s refund policies. Apparently, if iPhone users decide that they want a refund for an app (users can get a refund within 90 days, according to Apple policy), Apple requires that developers give back the money they received from the sale. But here’s the kicker—Apple will refund the full amount to the user and says that it has the right to keep its commission. So the developer not only has to return the money for the sale, but also has to reimburse Apple for its commission. Apple charges a 30% commission on all paid apps sold through the App Store. So basically, developers get 70% of a given sale but if the end-user wants a refund, the developer has to pay Apple 100% of the sale."

The thought crossed my mind but I'm not sure I can. That sucker is up under the chip inside the dock. If you tilt your phone at just the right angle to shine some light under the chip, you should see a white (I think the normal color is white) dot. That's it. I don't think I could squeeze anything in there to paint it without accidentally painting some other crap too. But yeah, there is a water sensor in the dock, one in the bottom of the headphone jack and apparently 1 or 2 more inside the phone.

They need to do a consolidated mailbox option like my old blackberry had.. it's annoying to have to go through 4 different accounts to mark emails as read.. they need one that shows all emails from all accounts so I can just go to that and flip through them all in one place.

So here's a fun problem I've run into the past couple days. Basically, my iPhone wasn't receiving any data from my work's Exchange server anymore. However, whenever I had Outlook open or opened up the web client, any new e-mails that I received or opened immediately got pushed to my phone.

I then did a full restore on my phone, deleted and recreated the account on my iPhone, which lost me all my contacts and calendar events. Again, the iPhone just wasn't able to receive any data from the server (although strangely, it was getting the folder info, just none of the actual data). So, on my work laptop, I put Outlook in non-cached mode, select-all on all my contacts, calendar entries, and contacts, and opened the mall. Wooooosh, all get pushed to my iPhone again.

So It's almost like the iPhone either isn't sending push requests, or the server isn't honoring them, but when I open them on any other client, it pushes them out all clients, including my iPhone. Strangest fucking thing ever, I'm gonna have a talk with my works IT guy.

^sounds like Microsoft is being bitter because the latest exchange server doesn't/didn't work with Windows Mobile.

^^ yeah i just noticed something similar today - Exchange emails weren't getting pushed. I was eating lunch and looked at my phone and saw no new messages on the home screen, thinking that it was just an unusually slow day, so I went into the mail app and BAM i got hit with like 15 new messages in Exchange. WTF

lol, you're gonna be hard pressed to find something like that.

the apps keep crashing because the OS is killing them for sucking up too much memory

why do you need to open a 70mb pdf on a phone?

huh? any bluetooth headset will work just fine with the iphone, it always has. anything with the headset profile in it will pair.

in 3.0 they added profiles for A2DP and music control (whatever it's called)
