I will say though, that conservative talk radio has become mainstream. It definitely trounces NPR, and I don't understand why lefties don't try to start up their own talk radio shows. Maybe they're out there and I just haven't heard of them.

they tried that "air america" that didn't do so well.

i think it's about the nature of some conservatives (the ones who like foxnews and rush and hannity, etc). it seems to me that they are the type of people that enjoy listening to some talking-head rant and bitch about all the things they hate and really "grind their gears", which is what most conservative talk shows seem to be. i think that's a big reason why right-wing talk-shows seem do so well. this is my opinion based on personal experienc.

i enjoy most of NPR (and I've never understood how some people can claim that's it's "liberal"... except that it seems that lots of those people think anything that doesn't have a conservative bias or isn't overly "patriotic" is liberal by default)
