ok,
my roller blades were way too tight. i actually skated around for about 1/2 hour before my feet went numb. i had to wait until almost dark so if i fell...not a lot of people would see me; i mean...why would i want to provide entertainment to my neighbors? especially free entertainment.

so i decided to go to play it again sports at cross roads and not only did if find my correct size, i found a pair in red, black and gray; needless to say i was stoked.

i called Dick's to see if i could return the smaller pair even though i wore them for a little while and actually skated on them and guess what? Dick's said no problem amigo! We will take them back with no problems. now i have to drive all the way back to brier creek to return those tight ass skates.

i was really shocked to find out that after tentatively riding around for about 10 minutes the skating motion and rhythm came back so ill be rad in no time.

glad you found some that fit. i think mine should still fit because i don't think i've changed shoe sizes since i was like 14 so hopefully they will. my skates are pretty badass (or were at the time i got them, if roller blades can ever be badass, that is). K2. so at least i look hip in them (as hip as you can look wearing roller blades).

the image of you skating makes me laugh. but i like to picture you wearing safety gear (especially elbow and knee pads) because that makes it funnier

i might break out my skates this weekend. and if it is REALLY nice outside and i'm feeling really gutsy, i might even go to lake johnson and skate. haha. i will provide entertainment for the public.

Ditto... don't know if that would fly in NC, but I played ice hockey in high school and in the summers we'd spend all day playing hockey sometimes at a local open roller hockey rink... twas fun.

okay, this is for NOT dnl and everyone else who is curious (so like, maybe 1 other person). i will call this, "welcome to my life":

December: my mom is diagnosed with leukemia @ rex hospital, raleigh nc. she undergoes chemotherapy, it doesn't work. the doctors are all like "omg why didn't it work?!" so we transfer her to duke @ the end of december.

January: my mom undergoes more chemo at duke. it works. everything seems to be going well. she gets minor infections here and there, as to be expected.

Feb: my mom's white blood cells aren't coming back, but neither is the cancer, so the doctors say her body has been through a lot, keep waiting.

March: still no white blood cells, doctors are getting antsy, they decide to move forward with a bone marrow transplant. people are tested, blah blah. my spring break from Elon is the last week of march (so like beginning march 20th). march 20, i come home and go out with my friends and i'm all like "yayyy its spring break." march 21st i wake up with a text message from my brother saying he took my dad to the ER at 4am. i race to the ER (wake med north, in north raleigh). everyone suspects a stroke. he gets transferred to big wake med where he continues to deteriorate and can't speak and is paralyzed on his right side. so it was a severe stroke. yadda yadda yadda a week and a half in the hospital and rehab and he is out. march 31 my mom goes in for a routine procedure to biopsy her lung because she has a fungal infection and they just want to figure out what exactly it is so they can get her healthy before her transplant.

April: april 1 i go to see my mom after her surgery, she is on a ventilator which they said was normal because she was having trouble waking up from the anesthesia after surgery. she can nod yes or no to questions and is alert, just groggy. so i'm like whatev and go home. so my dad is discharged from wake med on april 2nd. i take him home and then go to duke to see my mom. there the doctors are all like "blah blah it is bad" because i guess my mom had suffered like 3829743289 strokes and wasn't going to wake up so i call my dad freaking out. he comes to duke. has another stroke. gets admitted at duke. my mom died april 5 and my dad was just discharged from duke last friday. my mom's funeral was saturday. easter was sunday and here we are today!

oh and i dropped out of school to come home and be with my dad because he can't drive for ~6 months and has therapy 3x a week. THE END
