Let's see if we can tie the franchise winning streak record tonight. It would set us up perfectly for a 9-0 loss to Buffalo on Thursday.

it'd be cool if we can keep the page number on this thread the same with the number of games the Canes played.

I go running with the dog (missing the first period) only to come back and find the 'Canes with a 3-0 lead at the first intermission. Just unstoppable right now.

These guys sure do make it easier to forget I'm a Wolfpack fan.

i'm only concern about injuries at this point, don't want some utter failure like witt to make his mark

clear the bench. put in roach, albritton, keeter, simons, talib, and uh, kenny inge just in case someone wants to fight

The fans were awesome tonight! Hardly anyone left and the place was packed! We got tickets for Game 1 so here's to hoping it's home ice for us. Their passing was great tonight and were solid in all three periods.

must root for two NYR wins over Philly from here on out. They got it done against the habs tonight at least... that would pretty much seal us in with home ice in the 1st round...

lol at tonight. Just lol.

I know of at least 5 franchise records broken or tied tonight, and there is a 6th that I have yet to verify.

-Longest winning streak in franchise history (9, also done twice in 2006)
-Longest home winning streak in franchise history (12)
-Most wins by a goalie in a season in franchise history (Ward, 39)
-Most hat tricks in a season by a player in franchise history (Staal, 4)
-Largest shot differential in a game in franchise history (45)
-UNVERIFIED: Largest margin of victory in franchise history (9)

Always fun when your goalie gets a shutout but wasn't even one of the stars of the game.

Double posting for this:

Quote :
"I put our better players on the ice on most power plays in the third period because I didn’t like the penalties they were taking,” Maurice said. “Had they just been hooking or interference I wouldn’t have run it up. But as coaches we’ve got to have some recourse to handle a game like that. We don’t want it to turn stupid. I thought our bench handled it well."

Also, that's the biggest goal differential loss the Isles have EVER had. I can't believe it, actually.

Quote :
"Never before had they lost by more than eight goals - and they hadn't done that since losing 8-0 at St. Louis in 1988. (from http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=274152)"

i dont know about the fans being awesome tonite. the asswhooping didnt really facilitate as much energy as the close games against the ranger or the pens last week. in those games, the crowd was roaring

although the wave was in effect tonight...

You did not see vinylbandit as I had his ticket (thanks again), but you did in fact see Sweden in 331, which means you also likely saw steviewonder. Everyone sees Sweden.

I have never approved of the wave during a hockey game until tonight. I thought it was hilarious. Even the players on the bench were watching it.

That game was just amazing to watch. A hell of a lot better than the stupidity that was the Devils/Leafs game. Every time I switched it back to the Canes game they scored. Ric Flair certainly got a work out.

Hehe, I like we had 53 shots on goal to their 9... Ward had an easy night. Game was pretty good, but not a lot of good action really to take pictures of.

When Staal got his hat trick, he was an emotional as a Vulcan... dead inside... Boy, 1st period was slow and dead.

Vulcan91, I remember hearing on the radio during this absolute destruction of NYI that the largest margin for this team (Canes/Whalers) was 11-0 versus Montreal back in 1988 I believe
