At what point will everyone acknowledge that Wood is a mediocre player at best?

His one saving grace is his 3 point shot and the only players that currently have a worse 3 point shooting percentage are CJ, Brown, and Howell for fucks sake.

He's been at the top of the ACC in 3ss made and 3P% while averaging over 10 ppg for 3 straight years. I'd say he's played his role.

As I mentioned in another thread, it might be beneficial for him and the team for him to not have to play as many mmg (he's averaged 30+ for 3 straight years ). If he's ineffective and not making threes, Warren can replace him (if he's not replacing CJL or Howell).

and I'm sure it will level off, but so far Purvis is currently leading the ACC in 3P%, and is tied at 3rd with Wood for most 3s made

No reason to argue. It's pretty simple really. Lorenzo and CJ play like all-ACC players and we are who they thought we were. They don't and we are a nice Top 35 team that is eerily similar to the Herb teams.

I'd bet on talent winning out and Zo and CJ learning that preseason expectations are meaningless without bringing I every single time out.

I don't get it. When you see a team slipping into the same old bad habits that all of the sudden you put your blinders on. Nobody said that it was the end of the season, it is just familiar.

It is very early in the season but it worries me that this is still happening to the team. I was hoping by now they would be able to perservere through these kinds of situations. I really hope this is something the coaching staff can resolve because it is going to be a lot worse at UNC when most of the calls are against us.

I wonder if maybe something happened this weekend between the team and possibly even the coaching staff? Or maybe they all got hammered on Saturday.

Amile hasn't had any impact so far on a Duke team that is thin in the frontcourt. 1.8 ppg and 1.2 rpg in spot duty. That said, I sure wish we had him.

He would have gotten more time against UNC-A if the starters weren't playing like assholes. He needs to understand his role as an emergency forward when Howell/Leslie get into foul trouble and a human victory cigar. Expecting to become part of the regular rotation is almost delusional and dangerous to team chemistry.

amazing. Guy hits 2 3's in a couple minutes at the end of a blowout against Miami(OH) and all the sudden thinks he should get minutes? He plays a couple minutes against Penn State and throws up an airball and gives up an offensive rebound. He has never given us good minutes when it counts.

For these guys it comes down to do you want to be a role player small minutes guy on an ACC Top 25 team or a 30 minute a game starter on a sun belt conference team. Do what makes you happy but for a lot of people these are your two choices.
