The big buckin' chicken is a way better ad campaign. Although seeing Hootie dressed up like that is a hoot.

I just bought four tickets to see the Raleigh Rebels play on 4/20. I am VERY stoked.

The source of tyrosines for T3/T4 production is found in thyroglobulin:
The basic steps for producing thyroid hormone is this:
1)uptake of iodine
2) iodination of tyrosines
3) thyroid hormone synthesis
4) thyroid hormone secretion from the follicles to the blood, by proteolysis

Once in the blood, T3/T4 is bound either by:
1) TBPs
2) Albumin
3) transthyretin

Treatments for hyperthyroid are:
1) interfere with iodine uptake either by perchlorate or thiocynate
2) inhibit the conversion of T4 to T3
3) take out part of the thyroid

i don't get what
Quote :
"Whether or not these stories are true and regardless of the repercussions, this story just affirms the world's pre-existing stereotypes about Duke. The Durham student body is seen as a bunch of spoiled white kids who "where born on third and think they hit a triple."

If the victim's story is true, then these racial-slur-spewing meatheads think they can rape and strangle a black girl from a state school and get away with it. And even if the bathroom rape and beating never happened, then there was still definitely something not right going on at that party.
"

this quote has to do with anything...if this guy Ted thinks that these guys are any different than the next rapist, the next racist, or group of guys that orders a stripper for a party, he's sadly mistaken...

EPS: exalthalamic producing substance: produced by the pituitary and has something to do with the eyes.

Calcetonin: 32 aa with one disulfide bond

Is an Emergency way of gettin rid of excess calcium in the body. If you exceed a certain limit, YOU WILL DIE!

It does this:
in the bone by increasing deposition and resorbtion in the bones
prevents uptake in the gut
kidney
decreases food intake and increases water uptake in the CNS

There is a direct relationship between caletonin and calcium: when calcium goes up so does caletonin!!

In non mammals, T3 T4 and caletonin are produced in the ultimobrachial instead of the thyroid like mammals...

The parathyroid is located inside the thyroid in dogs unlike in most species it is located right beside the thyroid gland.
