how can you hate mushrooms?!?!?

i'm eating my daily meal - moe's.

i have a first world problem though.

i like chipolte tacos and guacamole WAY WAY WAY better than moes. but they charge extra for beans on tacos and i like beans. moe's doesn't. AND chipolte charges extra for chips. moe's doesn't. i DONT like the salsa as much at chipolte AND they have no queso which is a HUGE issue for me cause i always get queso

*SIGH* i wanted to get a taco + guac from chipolte and queso from moe's and call it a day but that was way way too much effort for fast food type tacos anyway. so now i will sulk about my soggy moe's taco. BUT I HAVE QUESO SO IT IS OK

OK so I watched Rachael Ray make something the other day on her show, some kinda shrimp and asparagus saute that she put over mexican rice. I took the idea (shrimp and asparagus saute) and ran with it.

This is what I came up with. And boy is it YUMMO.

That's orzo pasta, combined with a lemon pepper shrimp and asparagus saute, with vidalia onion, yellow and red peppers, and fresh chopped spinach.

Issie's Mediterranean Salad W/Orzo

16 oz bag of spinach
4 servings of orzo pasta
2 cups of sundried tomatoes, cut in strips
1 cup of kalamata olives, sliced
4 tbsp of capers
2 tbsp of olive oil
Juice from 1 lemon
2 tbsp of white wine

Basically, cook the orzo and mix all other ingredients separately. I like to cut the spinach into strips.

Once orzo is done, cool it off in water before adding to the salad.

kadwackle talked me into making pizza tonight (I was hung up on whether I wanted it badly enough to make dough.)

At first I was like "Oh no! No toppings! Oh well...I have cheese"
Then I was like "Oooooh but I have broccoli and spinach!"
And then I was like "I wonder if I have *any* meat I can slice or dice up to put on there." And then I found a "sausage link" in the fridge.

Breakfast tomorrow is going to be so tasty.

The broke off shit at the bottom is
1) tasting the dough to see if it's even tasty
2) Yeah, it's tasty. But it's not cooked all the way through in thick spots.
3) It's fully cooked, and even more tasty...I should leave some crust on which to make pizza...I should make some focaccia JUST LIKE THIS tomorrow.

i went to earth fare

i give it a .5/10

i mean like the food isn't gross it just isn't whole foods OR harris teeter

not a lot of choices on the salad bar which is annoying (cause that is why i like the other 2 places). and the hot bar at earth fare gets a -500/10. they had black beans, rice, chicken. that is it. it was like one inch big

I got a salad (the only really special thing they had on the salad bar was artichoke hearts and squash. NOT EVEN ANY TOFU ugh) and 3 bean chili. it all tastes fine its just not what i imagined i'd find.

at this new gastropub down the street

prices were too high, so i went with the $13 burger... lol

grass fed beef, on fresh in house baked brioche, arugula pesto, sopressata, sharp provolone... with a "trio fites" which was shoestring cut leeks, sweet potato and red potato fries.

not bad.

really wanted to try the duck confit and goatcheese pizza eheh

i'm guessing he's referring to this, or a variation of this.

it's just vegetarian ground beef and it actually tastes pretty good the way it is. if you're putting in a sauce (like spaghetti sauce) you might season it with S&P and garlic and what-not.
