I'd get a premium membership and post more frequently if I knew I wouldn't have to put up with him.

Until now my thoughts have always been: why should I pay for a membership when I go to a thread titled "Best thing you've seen on the internet today" and see some guy getting raped by a cactus. And why would lurkers or new members become active if 90% of the threads are overrun by this troll.

^^ That's a pretty generalized take on some very complex rites of passage, but yes they are very fucked up. I know a lot of humanitarian groups, both international and those within African countries are trying to find ways to educate tribes and change these practices. Unfortunately it's taken as an intrusion of western ideals and they see there fight as an adherence to tradition. The young men who choose not to go through these practices aren't just considered less of a man either. For the most part they are left with no other option to than to leave their homes, families, and friends because they will have no hope of a future within the tribe. They can't get married, find work, socialize, etc.

And If you think the boys have it rough, look up information for rituals and rites of passage with female circumcision.
