This really isn't a debate.

In high school, we did some debating in AP US History. Somebody wanted to debate abortion, adn the teacher was like "Ah ha. No. That was a debate in the sixties. Anybody who still thinks it's in question is a nutcase one way or the other."

I don't agree entirely, but it's a good point. The American legal system decided long ago that, like in the rest of the civilized world, abortions should be legal. Most reasonable people can see that. There's not much more to say, really.

I belive that my right to an abortion ensures my right to have sex like men--fuck without fear of pregnancy or childbirth. I believe that this right is fundamental to maintaining a society where men and women have equal opportunities. When I get pregnant and a man doesn't, I lose countless opportunities and am forced to endure some serious emotional and physical agony. The man, on the other hand, doesn't go through this the way I do. Abortion resolves this. And I think that's beautiful.

the pay rate, on average, for women is lower than the pay rate for men. Do you think thats solely becuase you have the ability to get pregnant? No Its because of hundreds of years of stratification of duties for men and women. You getting an abortion isnt gonna change a thing.
