Ettaler Curator Dunkler Doppelbock...ein klosterbier.
Not very hoppy, but a deep, malty flavor with a subtle sweetness. and between 8 and 9 percent alcohol.
Totally good shit.
Oh. I seem to have fallen off the wagon, but I'm kind of struggling to climb back on.

I've been in Denver for the last year and just started a new job with a finance company, and our main demographic is startup breweries. I get samples all the time and have visited many of the breweries in Denver. Some of my favorites....
Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout Breckenridge 471 Small Batch IPA Oskar Blues Ten Fiddy and Dale's Pale Ale Maui Brew Co. Coconut Porter
I did the finance for Great Divide's new bottler and a fermentor. Me and three others toured Great Divide (it's really small) and were treated to the Titan IPA cask brew. 6/12/2007 4:28:04 PM |

It's toasted. I'm pretty sure it's only available in Hawaii, it comes in cans. The Oskar Blues comes in cans, too. You should see it in Raleigh very soon, they just shipped a ton to NC. 6/12/2007 4:36:57 PM |

damn, did they just get it or has it been there awhile? We tried to set em up with another $600,000 so they could expand but they are really stretched as far as $$$. The Gordon's is the shit but it's like $11.99 for a four pack.

Since Anheuser Busch purchased the rights to Rolling Rock and moved brewing ops out of Latrobe, I was wondering if anyone knew if they still brewed it in glass lined tanks.
i read there was a distinct change in taste when the switch occured, but i haven't drank enough RR to tell. I do remember having it a few years ago and enjoying it and thinking it was pretty good and then recently thinking it tasted like everything else. 8/16/2007 10:35:29 AM |

roberta I got tickets to the Stone Anniversary too, but I have a conference in Newport until 2 so I won't be able to go. If you like the BP Dorado Double IPA, you have to try the Russian River Pliny the Younger Triple IPA, they will be at the fest. Also check out the Maui and Avery if you haven't already. 8/16/2007 10:42:28 AM |

I don't know what any of the brewers are bringing w/ them. I don't know much about CA brewers as I am in Denver now, used to live about 2 miles from the new Stone plant. I know a lot about the CO breweries as my company provides the financing for them. Are you gonna be out here for the GABF or know anyone who is? I'll be at all five sessions but working. 8/16/2007 11:47:32 AM |

I started a thread a while back, getting suggestions for new beers to try cause I was hooked on Bud Light, which is just pathetic.
Anyway, it was tough going, but I came out the other side a better person.
I dunno if I have a favorite (I love all beer), but this summer I drank a lot of Newcastle. And I rocked the fuck out of the Magic Hat variety show...love them, but I'm not sure if that's just cause the packaging is so cute. 8/16/2007 2:45:28 PM |

i had some of that maui coconut porter at the stone brewfest this weekend -- quite tasty! (though hilarious that they were there pouring out of cans the whole time, seemed to hold up the line though they were quite popular too)
stone's 11th anniversary ale was pretty good -- it's a black IPA (whatever that means), still can't beat last year's 10th though, yum
