But Hezbollah, while it's not a "terrorist" organization in any sense of the word, is similar to a terrorist organization in its lack of regard for its own people. Obviously the conflict with Israel was more important to them than keeping Lebanon safe. Israel's reaction was completely predictable.

If yes, surely they don't have national interests in mind, and surely the nation is suffering from some anarchy if the Govt does not support what's happened.

And, the US doesn't give shit about Tamil Tigers or Pakistan's ISI simply because it doesn't hit home. Why would the US get into this conflict, yet, without profound proof that it poses an imminant danger to its territory?

Israel is a recognized republic, and deserves any military aid it can get just like Hezbollah seeks aid from Iran and Syria.

Lets not forget who started this. Hezbollah did by kidnapping Israeli soldiers. Israel has the right to defend itself. Like the professor said on the NC state website this is about Hezbollah trying to assert power in the region. It is unfortunate that Lebanon is caught up in the middle. But it is time for Lebanon to stop allowing itself to be a pawn of Syria and Hizbollah. A lot of you have forgotten that Hezbollah was responsible for the massacre 230 Marines in Lebanon in the 80s.

I can't find the exact death tolls for Hezbollah turrists.

But, I read that the Lebanese Govt. is seeking compensation from Israel. Who is in control of the situation there? Is it the Govt. or the Hezbollah? If it is the Govt., why aren't they stopping the turrists?

not to mention hezbollah were known as the defenders of muslim lebanon during the 70's when the Israelis were allowed to do whatever they wanted around their borders and often lead incursions into lebanon and syria. Hezbollah stood off the violations and unfortunately have become more aggressive in the light of current situations
