I admit I havent' searched through the whole thread to see if it has been mentioned previously, but I ran into a pretty shitty situation Saturday. I got into the game around 7:50 and headed to Section 7 where my student ticket was assigned for. Evidently this section was full and they made me move to Section 8. This was only a minor set back that I soon forgot, but then I went to pee after the first quarter and security wouldn't let me back into section 8 because it too was at capacity. I guess they really need to scan the tickets at the section entrances as well because that is the only way to prevent what turned out to be a complete bullshit situation.

yeah, people were getting pissed when they got told if they left, they wouldn't be able to get in until halftime. But funny thing is that there was a steady flow of new people still coming in though.

Ahhh memoirs of the VT game last year. I was able to get out and back in section 7 fairly easily at halftime though. But i was about to raise some hell in the second quarter when my rum was ready to be passed and I was told I would not be let back in.

we're having a meeting either tuesday or wednesday to solve this...my 2 suggestions, after finding reasons not to do a 1000 other ones...

Have a separate gate for sec 7 & 8 ticketholders...strap a wristband on them as soon as they enter the stadium...hence stopping the duplicate tickets problem

option 2 doesn't solve the duplicate problem, but it does allow you to leave and reenter the section...have the attendant at the top of the section strap on a wristband or hand out passout stubs to people...when he/she runs out, that's all that can get into the section...

unless they're really good bracelets and done correctly(highly doubt they will) people will just take a few off and let their friends use them to get in. The only true option is to have handstamps. That takes care of everything.

The people at the gates can also get one of those hand counters like the bus drivers use and keep track of how many people enter. When that number is met, then don't allow anymore in. Have those passout cards at the section for people who need a nature break or whatnot.

And most of the people bitching about not being able to get in are probably getting their after kickoff. Then those who do get in think they should be able to squeeze in on the first couple rows and the event one staff in the sections are worthless. If you want good seats then get there early.

I would still like to see full general admission within student sections though. You get there early, you get a good section. The handstamp and counter idea can be used here also. If you come in halfway through the game, you get stuck in a shitty section.

There are no guest tickets to this game and I doubt you'll find a student ticket this late.

so I would think if you won and didn't claim, it would say "you were selected in lottery 1 . . ."

I've got two sets of two tickets. Don't bother; they're not for sale.

Two are in section 13, upper deck, but 50-yard line. Two are in 23, lower level, but 10-yard line.

I've only ever sat in the student section, so which is the better view? I'm keeping those and the two people I'm going with get the other two.
