its in the henne mines secret area. you need 10 espers and finish a specific hunt and you can open it up.

he is basically power leveling up, sleeping the bats and casting curaja on the undead bats to kill them. then he runs out and resets another area and does it again.

cool.. I'm bored as hell at work and I've been watching YouTube videos since about 1 now (as you can see ^^ and ^^^) It's sick watching these people going thru solo. One guy has Balthier at lvl 31 and everyone else is 12 and under. He's pretty damn good too. Seems boring to me.

Fun stuff to watch consider all I do in the game is power level and I'm still only at the Demon Walls.

Can't wait to get to those bats

jus got done playin this game all day..

i love this fighting system so i fight forever in each map.. clear most maps and go back even
i'm going super slow.. played 7 hours today and i'm about to go into the henne mines.. lol

all my chars are level 24.. vaan and basche are 28

found another katana somewhere, so basche and ashe have katanas..

i seriously think that this is the best battle system in the final fantasy series and i LOVED materia in 7

There's a room where a bunch of blue flans appear after you hit the switch. Have your party learn "Fira" and go nuts.

wow.. thanks Shin.. just spent the past 2 hours doing that

go in, hit button, kill with triple fira, run two screen away, run back, rinse, repeat

did that probably 20 times total (going and selling the Yellow Liquids when it hit 99)

99 yellow liquids X 531 a piece = big money this early in the game
... not to mention after I was maxing out the Chain Level, i was getting ~6k experience per person per button.

I just killed Tiamat (I think its that name, the Henne Mines boss) and I'm level 26 on everyone except Basch and Vaan are 36.

Exactly where can one buy Fira. or rather, when does it become available? Everybody in my group is 22, but I've not yet seen it for sale anywhere. I teleported everywhere I could go in an attempt to find a shop which sold it, but no luck.

all of the grimoires are good to have, with the 20k grimoire (warmage, gives better drops from undead and amorphs) pretty important to have early on.

the canopic jar is 250,000 and gives you an arcana nearly every kill, important in the late game when building the tournesol and a few other weapons.

I'm not so sure about that. When I first got to the village of the Garif at level 21, the merchant there didn't have Flametongue swords for sale. Now that I'm 23, he does. I just want to get Fira before going into the Henne mines so that I won't have as many problems with those slimes.

I havent even got to Mt Bur-O (whatever) and I have purchased all the grimoires... I've made over 300k in game already.. bought all them, got all magics/techniques/gambits available, bought all the best armor, Golden Amulets for the whole crew and still have around 95k to screw around with.

That Flan shit is AWESOME for:

- Gold (~60-70k each time selling 99 yellow liquids)
- EXP (~6k each time you hit the button)
- LP (All my chars are wearing Golden Amulet - Don't forget that even non-party members get LP)
- Teleport Stones (99 within two hours)

Anyway, I've abandoned the story and this training. Been runnin around everywhere doing some side quests... Got Francisca, Zodiak Spear and Demonblade on my main party members. It's sickening how fast I'm killing some of these marks/monsters at level 39/40 on my main 3. Oh, and I'm still not even to Mt Bur (still have that fucktard Larsa in my party - kill him before leveling on Flans)

Has anyone figured out why some people can't buy fira from the moogle at the Euryt village? I can't. I went to the mines, fought the jellies once and returned to the village and still couldn't buy it. I have it licensed for Ashe and she, Basch, and Vaan are all at level 25. Any ideas?

^^ I noticed that the spell was there after I beat Tiamat, so yes. Beat him then go back to the Viera city and you should be able to purchase all the -a spells


Last night, I did the Zodiak Spear/Deathbringer(+90 sword from Barheim Passage) runs from http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/file/final_fantasy_xii_power.txt

I haven't yet killed Elder Dragon and Vaan does 2500-3500 dmg and Ashe does 1500-2000 dmg

I absolutely smoked White Mousse in Garamscythe (cast berserk on him and its candy) for a nice +70 bow as well.

so I was reading some posts on another board and started looking into stats.. I want to ask the people that are done with the game what they thought..

What weapons do you use on your chars?

I was thinking, with my main three of Ashe, Vaan and Basch;
Ashe - Masamune with Genji Gloves
Vaan - Zodiak Spear
Basch - 1H sword with Shield

with Balthier/Fran with ranged weps as backup

What weps do you use with different characters given their base stats?

What is this deathbringer sword you all keep talkihng about and where do I find it?

I'm at the point in the game where I'm working through all the new areas north of the Mosphorian Highwaste on my way to old Archades...should I have already picked it up somewhere?



...ooook just read a walkthrough to see how to get it from the mimic in the Barheim psg sidequest. That's a lot of work. Any other place to get it?

ashe - ultima blade (she gets 3-4 hits frequently without gloves)


Most of it depends on the situation. I'll ditch 2 handed non-zodiac weapons for an axe and a demon shield if I'm in an area full of fiends casting darkga. I only get the masamune + genji gloves out when there's a monster with millions of HP, and all of that's supplemented with decoy, berserk, haste, bravery &c.
