so i might be getting my dad's 95 l/c. electronic front/rear lockers. loaded. 120k miles salvage title (was stolen dad bought it from a junkyard and rebuilt it back in the day).

oh yeah 3-4 inch old man emu lift with some bald ass atko's,aftermarket steering stabilizier that's it. some dings here and there nothing bad. it's a truck.

what is this truck worth? i know the price that he gave me and wondering if it's good. also the front end needs to be rebuilt (clicking) but he has the burfields already. and maybe eventually a power steering pump (whines, put some dawn in fixed it but whining has come back)

runs good and he doesnt rag it/offroad it.

^i'd say it's a little higher than that having the lockers. that's a fairly rare option. i'd say it's probably worth $4-5k. it would probably sell for more though on somewhere like ih8mud.com or ebay though.

if you're planning to 4 wheel it much, go ahead and get some upgraded/cryo'd birfs. they're heavy bitches, the stock ones aren't happy with the lockers and bigger tires.

dont look all that aggressive, I'd say they wouldnt do too well judging by that... what level of offroading do you partake in?

they look too "street" for me, but the pic is really tiny - judging from that id say a BFG All-Terrain has more tread (as a gauge, not on performance - as i drive a civic)

WILD COUNTRYS FTW

(what all the countra boyz ran back in Iredell)

that's what I'm thinking too. the previous post was clearly an uneducated guess. thanks for the real estimate I agree. I honestly dont plan on wheeling it much. if i want to rag the fuck outta something ill get a shitty jeep.

meh I guess with being that low miles helps its value some. I still wouldn't put 5-6k in it, being a salvage title. Even though you know the truck is perfectly sound, you won't be able to get your money out of it easily (or at all). I had one of these, and the market is soft and they aren't an easy sell EXCEPT to folks that love them, like the ih8mud crowd. People don't want 13 mpg SUVs like they used to... (unless brand new of course)

edit: BTW, this was mine http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=185146
its been for sale awhile now at that price

i hear you and i know what your saying. it's my dad's truck i was there with him when he rebuilt and i've taken it on several road trips. it's a good truck. has some sentimental value for me too, i would rather own his compared to another one. i wouldnt be reselling as i would tell my dad to hide the title from me after i got it put in my name

also that year has the weak motor..95 they put in a better motor. that year is a dog

not at all. i would venture to say that tawaitt knows at least as much if not more about toyota trucks than anyone else on here.

w00t!

i've got a good mua5 from a 1st gen. sitting around, but i need to check and see if the case halves will interchange. the outputs are definitely different (slip yoke vs. fixed yoke), but as long as it'll bolt up making a driveshaft that'll work is no problem.

it's an EXCELLENT platform the stock class if we happen to get it ready in time. in fact, for this sort of event i'd rate it pretty much better than anything else i can think of except possibly a tj. toyotas are close also.

-33x12.50's or 34x9.50's fit with some BFH action to the pinch weld on the firewall. 35's with trimming and t-bars up.

-4.56's

-strong front end for ifs, and has good travel

-super beefy rear axle and a flexy 3 link

-boxed frame

-fully skidplated

-driver experienced in isuzu flogging

i didn't read the rules and regs, but what about an XJ?

or a 90s Land Cruiser with factory lockers?

obviously a TJ would work well (esp if you had one with a rear D44).

xj is good, but you've got marginal axles and a unibody.

anything with lockers, even factory, isn't allowed in the stock class.

I am starting to develop a semi for a bobbed deuce. Hellacious machine compared to any street-production truck, dirt cheap, available with multifuel engine that'll burn pretty much anything but swamp water...
