Sweetness thanks. I meant cottage cheese as a snack. I'm starting to get tired of the same ol foods. I might actually have to explore cooking.

just bake some tofu. it makes a good snack warm or cold. just dip it in a low sodium soy sauce, or another low cal sauce.

tofu tastes like a million different things. it takes on different tastes depending on which type you use, how you cook it, and how you serve it. it can be used as a substitute to scrambled eggs, meat, as smoothies, etc etc.

i like to cut em up to look like french fries and bake them. a full pound is only 400 calories. and thats regular tofu, theres light tofu as well. and usually you can get 2-4 servings out of a pound depending how youre serving it.

My trainer made me do the Jacob's Ladder for ten minutes today with a few 30 second breaks. I hate that machine but I'm growing to love it because it works. I know it's that machine that will help me get into shape the best, since it's the hardest for me to do.

Lately, I've been feeling bummed because I don't feel like I'm seeing results fast enough. What are ..your thoughts on taking a diet pill as a supplement for a little bit, like a week, to see something, then quit, all the while dieting and exercising? And which one is the least deadly... I DUNNO i WANT TO SEE THIS FAT GO AWAY!!!1

Absolutely no pills, woman, keep to the regime! You're paying them good money, they'll put you through what works.

I'm not seeing much change either, but my mom always told me the slower it takes to loose the weight, the more permanent the loss (so long as we can keep to the diet, which fucking blows...)

I can't afford it right now, but Dieting can be fun if you have the money to get all those fancy ingredients in lean cooking.

Lol.

Cooking isn't the hard part! Just google the recipes, print 'em out and keep them next to the cooking area (my mom used to prop up her giant cookbook on a stand). But I can't afford the ingredients, they're always so exotic.

Well it seems I barely have ANYTHING to cook with. Someone make a recipe out of these items. I have chicken, and romaine, and srawberries. Hummus, milk, some eggs. Rice cakes, 90 calorie granola bars, nutri grain bars, carrots-no I left those at work, tomato, some cheapo spices, whole grain bread, wheat cracker. Ok go!

I'm trying not to spend any money....

Spice the chicken, then put it in the ovenz, cut up the romaine and put it in a bowl. Cut up cooked chicken and tomato and whatever else and put in the bowl with the chicken and you've got a salad!

I'd make a tuna sammich on the rice cakes or bread, put some tomatoes and lettuce on there YUM

also you should crumble up the crackers and put it in the tuna to give it a little crunch

See, that's my point right there, smashing avocados takes time and energy. It's like they're catering to fatties by making fat food easier to prepare...

Course, it does sound tasty...

What I'm trying to do is only purchase healthy foods so I can't have anything bad because bad foods are so much easier to prepare than good foods. But then I go to the grocery store when I'm hungry and with the bf and get some bad stuff mingled in.

Tuna sandwiches are delish with mayo...and mayo is BAD.

The rice cakes are cinnamon, ew w/ tuna. ha

Snackwell's cookies taste like ass.

^is that the stuff in the can with the crackers with it? I bought some of that from walmart for my lunches on the days I have school but I haven't tried it yet.

I should be losing some weight now, I'm giving up sweets for lent. So with a reason not to eat candy bars and stuff all the time during my breaks at work I should be a little slimmer.

nah no crackers, it's just a straight up can with a removable top.

i'm also a big fan of the marinated tuna filets they sell these days.

Sounds good actually.

I'm getting pretty discouraged from not seeing any significant loss. My work scale says I've lost five piunds but in four weeks? Come on! It's causing me to get off my diet more frequently. My workouts are becoming more intense and I am gaining muscle mass but shit I am desperate for any sign of change! Now don't get me wrong, I am stronger, I certainly feel lighter, you know not suffering from the same issue I had when I was heavy in fat content. I look the same though!

I dropped a pant size according to Target but that's iffy, could be from a different brand. ha. Fact is, I'd like to see some thinning, like fast.

if you're trying to lose weight, stop lifting weights and focus on intense cardio training. elliptical may not be enough - go for jogs, or walks too. keep adjusting your diet, and stay away from bad carbs (like those rice cakes you were eating, they're worthless).

don't stay motivated

stay determined.

learn the difference and appreciate it.

and even if you don't make it by July, keep at it.

Well I'm trying to get in shape. The weightlifting is awesome, I want to be stronger, need to be for my job. I'd just like to lose weight more. Hey if you tell me it's a guaranteed fact I will see results then I'll be cool to work with it, right now I feel like I'm gonna weight this much forever.

I do elliptical for 30 mins. on my off days, anything else I should do? Slowly, I've been doing Jacob's ladder on my own, maybe I should start with five minutes of that and increase each time. My diet has been better this week, I'm not looking for super strict because my old diet consisted of fast food and sweet junky stuff, now I'm looking for healthier alternatives while still eating tasty things. At work I am moving constantly from 9 am to 8pm, so my workout at night is jsut to get my heartrate up for a steady thirty minutes. But on Wednesdays I'm free.

Maybe I should go back to the gym on Tues. and Thurs. after my personal trainer sessions to workout MORE? Running sucks on my joints. They have an arch trainer thing thats cool. I haven't tried swimming laps yet but I look horrid in a swimsuit still.

well i've been making substantial gains lately in the weight room, but it's adversely affected my weight. my body shape is changing, but my weight has actually gone up 2 or 3 lbs. Regardless, i'm down from a 46 waist to a 42, and these are starting drag off my ass.

i'm eating regularly, mostly fruits, vegetables, and proteins (chicken, beef, tuna), with an occasional off-day where i'll have like a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich for breakfast and chinese food for lunch/dinner.

i dont know what to tell ya. i'm not really aiming for a goal other than a general idea of being around a 36 inch waist by August, and preferably around 220 lbs... but it's a life changing sort of thing, not a "drop it and go back to how i used to live" thing.

anyways, just keep at it. i promise you'll see results. stay active, keep your calorie intake down, and eat wisely.

Word, this is alife change too, I jsut know if I saw more results I'd be more willing to stick to it! This is jsut a down roll I guess. I won't ever go back to eating the way I did, no thanks. In fact fast food makes me feel awful when I do eat it, no matter what it is. I've got a sweet tooth though.

Doesn't seem like I'll be as small as I want to be come July. Who knows.

the carbohydrates in rice cakes are so finely milled that the body can digest them as fast as sugar. they rapidly spike insulin and subsequently make blood sugar levels crash soon after eating them, which results in hunger cravings.

they also have little to no nutritional value compared to other smarter food choices, such as celery or broccoli or a handful of nuts.

i don't know of any websites

but the prepackaged salads with tuna or chicken are usually my lunch.

i also allow myself any type of dressing i want other than ranch or blue cheese. right now my favorites are a garlic vinaigrette and a peppercorn/vidalia onion gourmet sauce.

i stopped snacking though. if i need a snack, i go ahead and eat a small meal, either chicken breast, or mixed vegetables, or green beans, or whatever.

campbell's chunky has some pretty good soups that aren't terrible for you. beef vegetable and cajun sausage/chicken are my favs.

a grilled steak or fish and green beans is also a tasty and simple dinner. you can also make your meals much more interesting by learning how to cook with different spices. lemon, garlic, pepper, etc all make good flavor additives.

The fact is, I need to learn to cook, and we need to purchase more veggies and more meats that aren't pre..whatevered. This site is actually pretty interesting. I should make a grocery list and stick to only it when I go out to shop.
