that was easily the worst game of basketball i've ever seen. the officiating sucked horribly (were those their refs?). and marist's style of play was far from scrappy, it was bitchy.

1-13 three pointers? ouch. good thing they sucked ass.

and bryan nieman...is it that hard to at least act like you care about hitting those free throws? i mean, of course we already won, but the least you could have done was square up to the line when shooting them...

Check out about halfway through the video on that page, see Ben McCauley go apeshit after getting an and one after taking it to the hole. That's intensity.

Bill O'Reilly should be proud of his alma mater's basketball team.

They're as fucking worthless and dirty as he his.

Reynold's was absolutely awesome, though.

- it was loud.

- and hot.

- the techs were ridiculous.

- jaZon said it best: the best teams go to the ncaa tournament, and so do the best refs.

- when it was clear that they were going to lose, i felt bad for marist's players because they had to put their idiot coach's idiotic plan into action for the last half hour of the game (2:05 of game clock time).

I was on WRAL!! I am special!

But yeah, the officiating sucked, but the Wolfpack managed to play through the crappy officiating to once again emerge victorious.

rdunck...kickstand is right...if the old people don't want to stand up and cheer for their team they can pay for ESPNU and let students come and actually cheer and support their team unlike the two old people who sat behind me.

despite the few people who apparently complained, most of the arena was standing for the whole game

[Edited on March 16, 2007 at 11:49 PM. Reason : if that's any indication of the atmosphere]

i have to give sidney props for not punching the refs in the faces.

he worked them the whole game without getting t-ed up, especially during the final 5 minutes where it was bullshit calls, no calls left and right.

there were some younger teenagers behind me with their parents and they sounded like they were gonna have a temper tantrum when people would stand back up.

I think CUSA should get some feedback about how their refs are awful!

Officials tonight were: Kevin Mathis, Don Daily, Lamont Simpson

I think Mathis was the asshole... can't be sure though

I was on the front row and had to sit down due to a guy behind me complaining. To his credit though he was old and tried standing for the first bit of the game then just got too tired.

everyone around us stood for most of the game.

from packpride:

Quote :
"yes, screw many of the GA-sitting students (and I AM a student!) Those idiots refused to sit down and wanted to stand up the entire game at center court in the first 3 rows. After hundreds of people telling them to sit down, the event1 staff came and made them sit.

I personally had to explain why General Admission seating does not give you the right to stand up the ENTIRE game, and block the view of older people who cannot stand up behind you. I had to do this to two different groups of students. Then I had to explain why the did not have the right to ruin the expierence for everyone behind them just because they camped out all night and decided to sit in the upper section.

We wonder why people hate our fans"

what a whiny douche

on the racist alert network they had a short coverage of the game, Gavin said, "I've never seen Reynolds sold out before, we should start scheduling duke and carolina here, I know they'd lose some dollars..."
I was at the game and it was great. After the first tech I don't think i've ever heard a louder collective boo. I had a great time even though i had to endure 30 min of guido fouling basketball at the end

That

was awesome.

I mean, who here wouldn't pay $15-$20 for a student ticekt to help make up the money for playing UNC in Reynolds?

I'd pay for a student ticket if it meant the UNC game were there. BIG time hats off to the players, too, who all came out to midcourt after the game and applauded the fans. Really nice moment. I have a picture of it, I'll load them up soon.

I completely agree with hondaguy on this one. It was terrible. Here are some of the excuses I heard.

(1) They've paid to sit there.

-- No. The people who pay mucho money had reserved seats, center court, across from the benches. They obviously paid enough money to warrent the argument that they've paid, and they can do whatever they damn well please. Everyone else were deemed equals. Otherwise it wouldn't have been general admission.

(2) Standing is for the baseline

-- Wrong again. I could stand on the baseline and not see shit, or I could stand at mid-court and enjoy the game. I was the 5th group camping out. I could have gotten baseline seats, but I wanted to sit in the middle. That didn't mean that i wasn't going to stand up.

(3) Standing makes me an ass

-- Fine. Then I'm an ass. You paid $2k and $12. I camped out for 11 hours and stood in line for another 3 and paid $5. I feel like you ordering your tickets online just doesn't justify you calling me an ass because I wanted to stand and watch the game. If you had said, please sit because the elderly lady behind you can't stand, then I'll sit. Calling me an ass doesn't get anything done.

It was embarassing for the Wolfpack Club in my opinion. If you're going to make things general admission understand that the collision of cultures is going to cause a problem. Absolutely ruined the experience if you ask me.

I don't think we have trouble filling up the RBC when we play duke and carolina. It's the other games that we're having problem with.

well hopefully it won't be a problem for long. as long as we never have people in sweater vests leaving 20 minutes before the game is over because we're blowing the other team out

the problem is that people have gotten used to the rbc center

i never sat during games at reynolds growing up.

now its all luxury boxes and bullshit people buying season tickets and showing for 3 games a year.

i miss that place.

was terribly unorganized though. concession stands didnt even have ice, or change for that matter.

wouldnt trade it for anything.

I HATE THAT FUCKING RBC CENTER.

i seriously don't understand how in the hell you can hate the RBC Center

i can understand liking reynolds way more than the RBC Center, but other than being bigger, what the hell is wrong?

i have no problem with standing up, but if you are the only one standing up in your whole section, or among the very few, just sit down..
