of course, it makes me argumentative. most people don't want to bother with what is right. it tends to interfere with their agendas.

it depends on who i'm talking to.

i don't say anything if i don't have anything to say. if i don't think someone is worth my time, then i don't have anything to say.

say i wanted some at 70F, would cooling something from 100F to 70F be the same as heating something that is 40F to 70F?

No, because the isobaric specific heat capacity is temperature dependent, the difference in energy content between 40F and 70F is different than the difference in energy content between 70F and 100F.

Anyway, it would likely take less energy to cool it than to heat it since microwaves, ovens, other food cooking devices add less thermal energy to food than the electrical energy they consume. Whereas, cooling devices, such as a refrigerator, create a path for the flow of energy from the food to the environment so the change in thermal energy of the food FAR exceeds (by a factor of 1.5 to 3) the electrical energy consumed. But the efficiency of the refrigerator depends on things like the environmental temperature.

If we assume that the ambient temperature is 70F and you're leaving the food on the counter to allow it to reach room temperature, it will more than likely cool from 100F to 70F faster than it would rise from 40F to 70F assuming no forced circulation of the air, since in the cooling case, the air would naturally circulate.

The answer depends on HOW you're heating and how you're cooling...

it's a relavent question.

for my own interests, maybe not so much yours.

your guage of stupidity is only for yourself, and not much else.

you attempt to pull this off as being for everyone constantly on here, and it's fucking played out.

just like every other "intellectual" early college student.
