it is amazing if its true, considering how many games he missed with injury
i figure maybe evtimov would be on that list...he was injured more than atsur, but with his medical redshirt didnt he play games in like 6 different seasons?]12/28/2007 3:14:30 PM |

- Grant's minutes played last year were the most ever by an NC state player. - Atsur logged the fourth-most minutes in Wolfpack history (3,838). - Ranks second in NC State history with 223 three-point field goals made and - ninth in assists with 365.

well remember that "history" is like post mid 70's because freshman couldn't play back then, so "history" is pretty much 30 years 12/28/2007 3:27:50 PM |

yeah and i guess also the fact that we went MEGA DEEP into the NIT tourney as opposed to our shitty postseason journeys for the past 20 years also helped since more games = more minutes...also we played in 4 acc tourney games last year which didnt use to be the norm 12/28/2007 3:31:03 PM |

Only got to hear the game via radio, but I'd say there's some pretty big positives:
1) Fast break - the commentators paid some great compliments to State's ball movement off a rebound/turnover/press. On more than one occasion State went down the floor without the ball hitting the court. State may be a front-court heavy team, but it was good to hear that the Pack got out and ran when they had the chance.
2) Big win - Beating a tough team on the road without any experience at PG is huge, especially when that team is the kind of quick, speedy, turnover-forcing team you'd expect to give State's big guys fits. This was a tough match-up without an experienced PG to steady the ship. Kudos to Sidney for getting the team ready.
3) Diversity - Gavin and Fells led the way, Hickson and McCauley made solid contributions, but once again the team showed the key strength of last year's team.
4) Senior leadership - The Grant haters are noticeably silent so far this year.
Downside:
1) Costner - Can't find his shot, but did pitch in in the rebounding category
2) Gonzalez/Johnson - Expectedly unproductive, hopefully this game's experience will pay dividends later.
3) Outside shooting - At some point SOMEBODY is going to exploit the fact that State has no reliable long-range shooters. 12/28/2007 5:37:42 PM |

8-3. Next 11 games will go 8-3, and then finish regular season and acc tourney 8-3. 24-9. If so not bad at all. That would be very possible. Going 10-6 in the ACC would be tough though. You can figure out how I got that record. since we have scheduled 30 games, 3 in the acc tourney meaning we make the championship game! GO PACK! 12/28/2007 9:00:21 PM |
