That was bitch move to have the mom shoot Claire...I thought it would have been great to have Claire shoot one of her moms...now that would've been something to follow. Once the mom got the gun, I knew what they were going to do. Would have been nice to take another character out.

Not only did I watch it pretty closely, but it's not like they write one episode right after they film the one before it. They definitely knew where they were going with Ando with regards to the stabbing before they filmed it.

mohinder talked about how the drug sort of takes on a mind of its own once it is inected in terms of what powers are expressed. Given that peter, sylar, and his dad can all absorb abilities in one way or another you can't completely rule it out.

When we saw Mr Petrelli kill Adam, my first thought was "well that's a boring power. kill people by making them drink from the false holy grail..." And I just kinda glossed over the fact that it brought him back to health. I just thought it was yet another guy with an interesting way to kill people.

But after we saw him take the powers from Peter, his move with Adam made a lot more sense. He didn't explicitly kill Adam. Instead, he took Adam's healing ability, and thus, Adam instantly aged to his true age of ~500+ years (or whatever). So he died, decomposed, and was reduced to rubble.

When Mr Petrelli first grabbed Peter, I was still thinking he had some sort of killing power, and I was expecting to see some sort of fight over killing Peter. The ability-stealing came as a minor surprise to me.

Also, now that Peter doesn't have his powers, maybe he will finally get that scar on his face.

And I thought it was pretty funny how that African guy kept foiling Hiro. Good stuff.

(btw, I went back and it is not seen, however, there is a clear shot of Hiro pulling it out of him and several inches of the blade are covered in the blood.)

I was just disappointed with this episode in general with teh predictable plots turns.

Another example being that as soon as we saw Claire and her mothers siting at the table together, I turned and told my girlfriend how they where going to get out of it.

Sure, but that's not how I took it (and not how I think they'll run with it, especially since they're already catching flak for having too many "invincible" characters). Obviously the power does not manifest the same way when they get "injected." But that doesn't mean that it changes once they receive it, and it doesn't mean that it follows any family guidelines.

Sylar can't go back in time. Hiro still can. What I suspect is that Angela's dream represents the different powers she will be facing, which implies that Mr. Petrelli plans on taking several other powers.

I actually liked this episode as one of the better ones so far. It pulled a lot of characters into it and left you with more questions and surprises about the whole cast instead of like 2 or 3 people.

I hope Slyar actually turns out to be a Hero. From a the nerdish comic kid in me, I think Peter and Slyar as good guys could frakk up anybody to save the world.

Clare has gotten to be my least favorite, sadly, because she was so integral in Season 1. And i'm pissed they "killed" Monroe. He was a great sarcastic character and perfect as a nemesis to Hiro.

The whole 1500s Japan story is half the reason why Season 2 sucked so hard. I liked Monroe -- in the present. But taking them both out of the main plot for 2/3 of the season was obnoxious as hell. "Oh, no, I really care about some dude with a beard and an Asian chick 500 years ago when a virus is going to kill us all in like a week."

The other half of why Season 2 sucked was an impotent Sylar riding around with a couple of wetback siblings with a creepy relationship and anger-management issues. "Hey guys, let's take our brutal serial killer and make him ride across the continent listening to some girl whine."

The other half of why Season 2 sucked was New Orleans. Black stereotypes, bad accents, and an "explosive finale" that has nothing to do with the rest of the season. Brilliant.

Yes, I know that was three halves.

I was thinking that at first, but future Peter was using the shapeshifting ability (to look like past Peter) while using all of his normal powers. And Sylar turned that gun into gold while he was using his telekinesis. I'd think it would be more like a concentration thing... it's probably hard to use multiple powers at the same time but definitely possible.
