Numbers will go up because the game is being released in Korea as well soon.

I don't think it is going anywhere, but I know it isn't going to consume more then about 6 months of my time before I'll be done with it. I think you can level way to fast in games now, I enjoyed that it took a while in UO to finish your char.

You should play EQ then.

I understand the leveling part, but there are plenty of games that are very repetitive that people play for years. It just depends on if the multiplayer is interesting or not. Take Counter-Strike for example. It's been the same dozen maps or so for years, yet it's still fun.

Leveling is fast in this game? Damn I must have blocked out the grinding Ive done in other games because I feel like it has been slow. OF course I have a life now so that might just be leveling it all out, heh.

When the new classes come out and those of you still playing roll one I'll healbot you or something. Most of the peeps I play with don't get on much. Too many games out right now..

Well I guess my issue isn't really the time it takes, because as a Zealot I level very slow and its tough by myself.

But it is very linear. I guess I would love to see more variety where just because you finish one phase of char development there would be something else. The lack of crafting in the game doesn't have that. That is probably why I'm not rushing to 40.

I dunno, we'll see. I'm having tons of fun so don't get me wrong.

Looks like they're adding a lot of new stuff which is good. Hopefully they tune out the open RVR areas so they're more relevant.

my buddy says he has it on the absolute lowest setting and whenever the RvR shit comes along, it's like a slideshow. He can't really upgrade the GPU because of a proprietary Sony power supply limitation (~360 watts).

Any ideas ?

You have the same system as I do almost, and in large scale RVR it never got too bad, better than WoW when it gets even just a little laggy in fact.

Bad thing is there is no more large scale RvR to speak of to test it out, in tier 1-3 at least.

I made a bunch of changes to my graphic card that fixed my lag extremely. There are a lot of different things and tweaks that I did and it all helped, overall the lag in the game has gotten better too.

New patch didn't really do a ton. The next patch is going to be the big one that will make or break the game. I've been testing it on the test server, and a lot of the combat in the game is better.

I played it for awhile, it doesn't suck compared to WoW. Just so many people play WoW, and most people have invested so much time they don't like starting something new and don't remember the shit WoW was it's first year or so.

I need a new video card. If you can't play this game at high resolution with all the settings at high quality, it looks like crap.

saw wowhead.com sell out to War Online today figured i'd bump this thread.

No post here in months. This game is dead now I assume. Last i heard they were merging servers and shutting empty ones down.

I played for two months. I was fucking psyched about this game before it came out. I've been playing games workshop games since the very early 90s. WAR just didn't provide a deep immersive experience that the warhammer world deeply deserves. Furthermore, the game was also buggy and in need of further polish. I played WoW for about two years and there are a few things that WAR legitimately did better, but, on the whole, I constantly found myself thinking, "this worked better in WoW".

I thought the public quest system was neat.
I liked that your game map told you where to go for quests so that you didn't have to play hide-and-seek across half a zone looking for random mob X.
The professions in WAR were about as intuitive as quantum mechanics.
All the fucking classes look almost identical.
The open party system was nice.
PVP leveling was awesome.
RVR PVP was entirely dependent of other players being online and in the fight. You can't gain renown on your own.

I could go on and on about the good and the could-have-been-good aspects of this game, but, in the end, it just fell short of what it needed to be to be anything other than a festering disappointment compared to WoW.

the main part of the game (ORVR) was too dependant on participation from the other side. and most servers had 1 completely dominant side. also, people who are interested in mostly PvE can't really get into this game. it was a good game overall, but not one that could hold your interest for many months/years.

also, many people's computers had graphic problems, and honestly i didn't feel like spending hundreds of dollars upgrading my computer & components just to play it.

HAH. But seriously, this game could have been epic. RIP Squigz the Squig Herder and Zenu the Sorcerer.
