Wallin getting 82 points the rest of his career might even be a stretch. I fear trading Frank, although I think we could possibly land a solid D guy out of it.

I also wonder about this rumor out of Minnesota that they're shopping Gaborik. If I recall, weren't the Canes one of the top teams interested in him last year? He would fit in nicely in place of Ruutu, especially on a line with Staal. Just throwing uneducated ideas around; perhaps Kaberle, a junior player, and a draft pick for him??

Yeah that one was a totally bogus rumor. Unless Karmanos suddenly decides he doesn't mind hemmoraging money, you'll probably never see a player of Gaborik's pay scale here unless Staal and his contract are gone.

As for Kaberle, he won't be traded for a defenseman. The reason we are shopping defensemen is because we have too many of them; it will either be a forward, prospect, or draft pick coming back the other way.
