I much prefer SPB Mobile Shell. Fewer finger presses to get where I want to go. 3/26/2010 10:03:45 AM |

HTC Sense is pretty much the best UI, imo.
I'm about to flash again w/ Energy.RHODCDMA.23549.Sense2.5_with_Cookie_HomeTab.Mar.25.7z
NRG also just put out an new HD2 rom according to his twitter feed, so if you're inclined read up on unlocking it and flashing some of his stuff. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591784
Top roms at this point are either MightyMike's or NRGZ28 and it just boils down to personal preference as dfshadow has proven. 3/26/2010 10:54:33 AM |

So about a year and a half ago Best Buy apparently offered Touch Pros for like 150~ or something after rebate with an upgrade. I missed out on this but a few months later they were offering TP's for 250$ with a 2 year plan. I managed to convince them to give it to me for that price as an upgrade with a 2 year extension - then I went and used the Sprint 150$ rebate, which apparently was not for Best Buy but the fine print did not say that anywhere, so they gave it to me anyways.
So I intended up with a Touch Pro for 100$. I never purchased TEP, but about a month ago my phone (which had always worked perfectly) started to have major issues, and eventually the keyboard stopped working completely. This was covered under the manufacturers warrenty so they sent me a refurb TP. The one they sent me did not have working bluetooth so I sent it right back for another. The third one worked fine for a few days then completely stopped turning on. It would just get to the first TP screen and restart itself again. I hadn't flashed anything at all or even unlocked it, so I don't know how it would brick itself. This time when I called in they said I had to bring it in to a store. When I brought it to the store the guy said it definitely was broken, and it was an internal issue, but my phone's warrenty had apparently run out like two days earlier so there would be a charge for a new phone. He decided to put it into the system and see what would happen and it said there was no charge, and that a TP2 was a choice as a replacement phone. And then it turned out they sent me a brand new in box TP2, not a refurb
So I paid 100$, had a TP for a year and got a free upgrade to a TP2. And TEP is currently on open enrollment so I'm going to sign up and when this phone dies upgrade to a snapdragon phone for cheap 3/26/2010 11:20:24 AM |

TEP open enrollment is awesome. My story is somewhat similar and the end result was a Refurbished TP2 not new, but I've had zero issues with it so far and absolutely love it. I'm eligible for new customer incentives on 4/1 and will definitely be holding out for the Evo this summer. 3/26/2010 11:45:06 AM |

new app development for WinMo 6.5 is slowing down. I know Foursqaure and Gowalla are gay, but they're starting the trend of not designing for WinMo 6.5 which others will be following. I am seriously considering the Android phones for the summer now... 3/26/2010 11:48:19 AM |

I'm trying to decide what to do. So far I flashed mightyrom's latest, downloaded the cookie tab and I'm loving it, but I sort of want to switch back to PointUI. I loved PointUI on the TP and I think it will look great being able to go fullscreen on the much bigger screen. My only concern is the contacts - I love how I can connect everyones contacts to their facebook and it updates their pictures, its fun. 3/26/2010 12:20:56 PM |

Is there anyway of getting an android phone from sprint and not pay 69.99 + taxes every month.. I think they require you to switch to the everything data plan.. 3/27/2010 10:26:39 AM |

What are you currently on now? SERO? The closest thing I found to my FF1250 @ 49.99 was ED450 w/23% (USAA employee discount). You can usually get it added with eCare and UPS might be 25%. I think I read in another thread that NCSU alumni or staff? is also 23%.
I was toying around with this when I wanted a blackberry. 450 anytime was going to be a stretch even with the anytime mobile addon and the pick 3 (if it even would transfer to my new plan). I'm going to bite the bullet this summer though and finally switch to an Everything plan.

Yeah I was using 19th IIRC before it went to shit (25th). Just upgraded to 26th and it seems to be the same.
I did see this though.
NRGZ28 im starting to think the cookie home tab drains the battery more than a non cookie rom... anybody else noticing this ? about 2 hours ago via HTC Peep

I am currently on the Talk share 700 plan(2 lines) with a 20% employee discount.. To get any android phone they want me to shift to an everything data plan for 69.99 a month per line.. 3/29/2010 10:35:41 AM |

Data share is 129.99 for 1500 and 2 handsets. Probably your only choice. You could try to get a discounted Everything Data and then add a discounted basic talk line maybe. 3/29/2010 2:59:43 PM |

Thinking about upgrading my Touch Pro to a Touch Pro 2 on Sprint. Anyone think I should wait it out, and use the $150 upgrade on something coming out later (not a Phone 7 Series, I have decided against that crap). But maybe some WM 6.5.3 phones are on the horizon for Sprint? The EVO has no keyboard. Perhaps a Touch Pro 3 is due for 2010?
