man something needs to happen with our offense. the starting pitching has been good, if not great, the pen questionable at times and very up and down, fielding hasn't really been an issue for the most part, but our offense is atrocious 75% of the time. we'll put up 11 runs one game, then go 2, 3, and 0 or something inconsistent such as that.

of course, after last year, knowing we needed so many pieces in the puzzle, this really shouldn't surprise me.

Did anyone else see the game? I watched it on Sport South. 3rd base umpire made a horrible call on a Beltran steal of 3rd with 1 out in the 9th. McCann gunned him and Beltran was somehow called safe. He then scored on a Castillo fly out a few pitches later. Without that shit call, there is no bases loaded walk to be given.

Fuck you umpire - deserves suspension for blowing such an easy call. He got himself completely out of position as the play was happening and then made the wrong call.

one of our top prospects, SP kris medlen was called up at the end of last week. he was supposed to pitch tuesday, but he'll probably get bumped back.

the best part: medlen takes yoyo's place in the rotation.

prior to his call-up, he was posting better numbers than hanson.
medlen: 37.1 IP, 4 ER, 44K, 10 BB, 0.78 WHIP, 0.96 ERA
