I am sorry to ask this stupid question.........but...do we still have chances of making it to the NCAA tournament if we win all the remaining games?

winning all remaining games would mean that we won the conference tournament = auto bid. so yes.

we could lose all our remaining games and win the acc tourney and make the ncaa tourney

but yes if we win out, finishing 10-6 in the acc, we should make the tourney with wins at unc, etc

We'd be pretty much a lock to go if we won all our remaining games.

well, we'd be 10-6. so yes.

and if you mean ALL the remaining games, then we'd be a lock because we'd have won the acc championship

10-6 in the ACC will get you in, no matter what you do in the ACC Tournament.

if we were 10-6, i think we'd make it regardless of our acc tourney play.

but i think 7-9 is the more realistic outcome.

Seriously, with all those mistakes, against the hands-down worst team in the ACC?

that would depend a lot on our acc tourney performance.

too much depends on what other teams do to be able to give any kind of "win this many games and you're in" scenario

you should be. as far as i'm concerned we are 4-7 in the acc at this point.

and that has nothing to do with the dean dome because that's not actually any great home court advantage or anything. it has everything to do with the team we'll be facing in the dean dome.

winning at UNC and at WF is unlikely. That's already at 4-8 if you give those two losses.

You'd have to think if we win the other 4 and finish 8-8 that's not quite good enough. 2-3 wins in the ACC tourney on top of that and we're in no doubt. An 8-8 finish and first round loss = NIT

we are still currently NIT bound IMHO, with the potential to be on the bubble either way of it. Play like we did today and we are a bubble team for the NCAA. Play like we have been known to and we are bubble for staying home

AHA, I totally feel you.

Every year at about this same time, I start doing all the deals in my head, tryna figure out how we can reasonably salvage a season and make it to the dance. If we win out, sure.

But what if we lose to Chapel Hill and Wake Forest? That's 8-8. We win a couple games in the ACC tournament, and I think we should go, but I can never tell.

I mean, Florida St. is 25th in the nation, and they've been put on "bubble watch" ()...so WTF?

GT is actually a really good defensive team. I think they're 3rd or 4th in the league.

I think we have to beat either WF or UNC at their house or have a really good ACC tournament run. Even if we win the other 4 regular season games 3 of those are at home. We've had a horrible road record in the ACC and the selection committee isn't going to like that one bit. It doesn't help that everyone is slobbing the Big East's knob this year and they'll probably get more teams in than they should at the expense of ACC teams IMO.

If we beat UNC on wednesday I'll start worrying about it...until then, i'll be satisfied if we get 6 or 7 ACC wins, because I highly doubt we win at Wake or UNC. Of course, if we can somehow stop turning the ball over we could be dangerous down the stretch. Hopefully breaking that press for scores late today will get our confidence up so we can start doing that more. (different situation I know but confidence counts for a lot w/ this team IMO)

I think we've got this one, ever since Lowe switched to the 3 bigs starting we have been averaging 80+ points where as before we averaged in the lower 60's. I just don't see GTech scoring 80+.

I'll be so glad when Fells, Costner, and McCauley graduate. Half the time they are just going through the motions. Give me somebody who'll play hard for 40 minutes of game time not real time.

8-8 with 2 wins in the ACC tourney does not get us in the NCAA tournament. The only good team we would have beat if we did that was Wake. That wouldn't get us in

with an 8-8 record we would need to make it to sunday in the tourney in order to have a chance at NCAAs.

Anyone who will be glad when Fells graduates hates NC State. That guy has been amazing for the last 6 games or so, and he's been damn good in his career. He's played the last 2 seasons hurt or coming off injury, but when he's healthy he's a really good player. (he does play dumb sometimes i'll give you that)

I actually think we'll miss him more than anyone. As far as costner goes, We need him for another year. He and fells have had their bad moments, but in all they have been good. McCauley on the other hand i'll be indifferent to. I don't want him gone, but I've gone from loving the guy to hating him for more reasons than his on the floor performance. He's redeeming himself lately but I still don't know what to think.

I don't know why you would want Fells or Costner gone though.

i do wanna add that this was a GREAT win for this team. Some may say, "but it was 1-9 GT"........but with this team, coming off of a big win against #7 Wake Forest....today could have easily been a "let down", going to Atlanta, 1:30 tip, etc. But they went int there and battled and came out with a 20+ point win. You don't just get those in the ACC, i don't care who you play. Great game today guys

And yes, really, dude. Obviously I'm looking at their whole body of work. Over the last two games they've been playing really well. Especially Fells and Costner. But even still...each one of them is good for at least two plays a game where I'm like "Wtf dude, are you a freshman or just retarded." Everyone bags on our backcourt, as they should, but I'm pretty sure if you look up the stats, you'll see that Fells, Costner, and McCauley have as many turnovers as any of our point guards.

looking forward to a good game on Wednesday. I'm expecting a loss, because I'm a realist, but I think we just might be able to hang in there. I think we all need to hope UNC destroys Miami on the road tomorrow so they come in HOPEFULLY a little over confident.

also a 20+ win on the road in the ACC is more than respectable.

just got in from the game... State looked lights out in the first half and the last 4-5 min, but shitty the rest of the second half. GT is just horrible. Its obvious none of the guards are confident, they KEPT passing up open shots for unnecessary passes. The arena was cool though.

If we can take our 22 turnovers from GT, and keep it around the 10-12 against UNC for the entire game, and shoot around the 50% mark, we 'MAY' have a chance. GO PACK!

yeah the worst thing that could happen would be if unc comes into our game on wednesday off a loss

unless maybe psycho t, lawson, and green all get hurt in the game

i just finished watching this game from a recording and I have to say that this was a great game. I hope that we learn how to break a press better though because UNC will not tire as GT did.

Also, Javi's fast break spinning foul hi off the glass and in was sick
