Yeah they are actually. Apparently they are back pedaling a little bit though on that press release.

False, the NHL has a planning calendar for the playoffs during which time they decide when each round commences and concludes. They need it in order to coordinate with broadcast networks *well* in advance of the actual playoffs.

According to the schedule, the earliest the Stanley Cup Finals Game 1 can be scheduled is 5 June.
