I pretty much only go to Speakeasy to watch games. Not that it's the best sports bar in the world, but they all know me there so I get the hook up on food and booze. 9/25/2009 6:20:58 PM |

back in my heavy drinking days when I first moved to Greensboro, me and my friends hung out up there like 4 nights a week. I got to be pretty tight with the owner, which has it's advantages. 9/25/2009 6:23:00 PM |

thats the place i usually go when i occasionally want a drink
mainly cause of that one time i went there with you and got smashed, it was a fun place.
i also go to this one mexican place up on battleground when i want a kinda secluded place to hang out. not so much romantic, but just quiet and alcohol-y 9/25/2009 6:28:16 PM |

ah yeah, Casa Vallarta across the street and up Battleground a little ways from where Wholly Guacamole used to be. That is a pretty cool bar area for a mexican restaurant....almost like a sports bar at night. 9/25/2009 6:57:25 PM |

I signed up for standard, the download speed should be like half that, I think.
The price was $50/month, I called and asked if I could get it for less than that. Dude was like, sure, we'll do $25 for six months, $35 for the next 12, no contract, no bundle. I'm sure with boobs you could get an even better deal. 9/29/2009 9:51:42 PM |

Same one as you, the standard. When TWC tried the whole metered thing they bumped up the speeds a bit. I think they also gave folks that speedboost thing. So my speed really isn't 21 down, except for the first few minutes of a download. I know when we watch Netflix it always does the adjusting thing after the first few minutes. 9/30/2009 7:53:37 PM |

I've hit just under 30 Mb/s on speedtest.net (RR regular, greensboro) but the fastest download I've actually seen sustained for several hours is 2 MB/s (16 Mb/s) (utorrent). It is random though and at first I thought it was the powerboost shit or whatever but I think that is only supposed to speed things up for the few MB or something like that. It's been this way since I've lived here (5 months).
My parents have Turbo (its the greensboro market but they live in the boonies about 30 miles north of greensboro) and they sustain 25 Mb/s. They just got RR a year ago but dad had been calling 1-2 times a month for years trying to get it, so I assume it has something to do with a newer line and sharing with less people.10/2/2009 3:01:10 PM |

Anyone know of any houses for rent in the area? I like the Friendly to Battleground area a lot, looking for around 900 for a 2 bedroom that allows pets. Looking to move in around December 1st. 10/2/2009 4:33:12 PM |

Yes, so I don't pay shit. That's on our office modem. I don't get coverage out at our house in Whitsett. I am looking to cut back our Time Warner though because we are getting RAPED! How did you get that shit for $30? Best they have offered us is $30 for the 1.5 Mbps.
^ tons of houses for rent right now. I recommend the neighborhood behind Lowe's on Battleground. Lots of neat little houses for rent for fairly cheap

[2:40:08 PM] Zach > Welcome to Time Warner Cable's SALES CHAT. My name is Zach. I'll be your personal sales assistant today.
[2:40:24 PM] Zach > What can I help you with this afternoon?
[2:41:35 PM] Tyler > Hi Zach, I am interested in signing up for Roadrunner Standard, but I don't have a need for cable or home telephone. Is $49.95 the lowest price I can get without a bundle?
[2:42:25 PM] Zach > oh no we actually have $29.95 a month for 6 months on sale.
[2:42:49 PM] Zach > For the Road Runner Standard (up to 7 Mbps download) speed
[2:43:13 PM] Tyler > That's great. And that price is for internet only? No bundle?
[2:43:38 PM] Zach > Correct. It's a promotion that just started yesterday.
[2:44:06 PM] Tyler > And what will the price be after six months?
[2:45:21 PM] Zach > After 6 months, you can then keep it at $34.95 a month for another 12 months 10/3/2009 4:56:34 PM |

^^^^^ called and tried to get switched to that yesterday. they told me it was only for new customers, and that the best they could do was put me on the RoadRunner light (1.5 Mbps) for $29.99. To which I told them that I am not under contract and can just quit, so why wouldn't they offer me the same deal they are offering new customers. The dude pretty much told me to go fuck myself.
^ nah, those modems won't work anymore come 11/1.

are you talking about the wireless routers or the actual modems?
yeah, the wireless routers will work, but the modems won't work anywhere in NC come 11/1.
however, they will work in other markets that haven't converted to WiMAX yet, so yeah turning them in is probably a good idea. 10/5/2009 5:31:30 PM |

Sell the netgear routers on eBay, at least that's what I would do. Those are actually purchased by customers and not leased through us, so you just have a bunch of free wireless routers on your hands.
the black modems with the 5 lights on the top are usually leased, so those would need to be returned to the warehouse. I can get you that address if you want.
