Has anyone else noticed the (i think it's an england flag) with USA on it? It's about half way down the sideline on Chelsea's attacking end behind a group of photographers.

1st Goal of EPL: Stephen Hunt for Hull City in the 28th minute

2nd Goal of EPL: Beautiful free kick goal by Drogba in the 37th minute

(last of goal updates)

^ just came here to say that

I really hope that EPL games on in the US becomes more commonplace and it continues to grow the sport here. Young kids get a chance to watch world class players and learn to play the game the right way.

Do you pay extra for Setanta? Isn't that a shit ton extra money per month (like $20) for that ONE channel?

When we were going to get AT&T we would have gotten FSC and GolTV (English version)... too bad.

Nah it's not any extra that I know of. We have the premium sports package that includes all of the fox sports net channels and espnu and those kinds of things. Usually setanta is blacked out for about 90% of the time but suprisingly with EPL I have both channels available. Watching blackburn/ man city right now

Jeez, nice start for the Gunners... wow.

Also, good to see my team get off with a 3 point star away from home. 2-0 for West Ham. Spector got 35 minutes at the back.

So has Jozy not gotten his work permit yet?

Damnit I wish Hull and pulled out the draw, that goal sucked.

Looking forward to seeing Altidore rocking the Hull jersey and scoring some goals.

Alvaro Negredo In Madrid To Decide Future - Report
A resolution to the striker's future could be found soon...
15 Aug 2009 16:43:40

According to AS, Alvaro Negredo did not travel with the rest of the squad to San Sebastian, where Real Madrid will play a friendly match with Real Sociedad, staying behind to make a decision on his future.

The powerful striker is believed to be close to making a move to Hull City, but fresh speculation in Spain tells of a last-minute bid by Zaragoza. However, Real's asking price of €18 million for Negredo is a stumbling block for the recently-promoted side.

Moreover, the Spanish paper claims that Negredo favours a move to Hull as he believes the Premier League suits his qualities very well.

It is understood that, should Negredo be sold, Real will include a €25 million re-sign clause in the deal.

Liverpool should have gotten the second penalty late but honestly, they didn't deserve points today. Still though, the refereeing was horrible even before that penalty... he was throwing out yellow cards for simple mis-timed tackles and then nothing on obvious tackles... for both sides.

Babel is such a waste, it was like night and day when Benayoun came on. I say fuck Lucas, play Benayoun in the middle, play Riera outside, and sit Babel's ass on the bench.

well of course but

Gerrard and Torres had very poor games by their standards too. That was probably one of the worst games I've seen Torres play in a Liverpool shirt

Sky Sports reporting both Walcott will sit out Arsenal's match against Celtic tomorrow with injuries.

Fabregas should play, but is currently in doubt.

Not what i like to hear.

I bought last year's Monaco and Bayern Munich jerseys for $39.99 each. They added the 4th star to Munich's crest. This was unexpected since the page for last year's jersey states it has the 3-star crest. I wanted to give them more business and I found that the Arsenal jersey was on sale. So win-win.

When it comes to jerseys, I buy personalized American sports jerseys (my Hurricanes and Braves jerseys have my name on the back) because I know I will never stop supporting the team whereas a player can be easily traded. For soccer, I do this by buying a blank back jersey.

another thing to do is buy a team kit with a legendary player's name on the back

I have the United 3rd kit from last year with Giggs on the back, and there's an older guy that goes to my gym that has the same kit with "Best 7" on the back.

Plus it gives you a shit-ton more credibility. I saw that guy with his Georgie Best kit on and I immediately had to give props.

Yeah...i just saw on FSC's webpage that it's supposed to be on at 2:45 FSN. Is that just any random FSN channel? Because i have like 50.

also, it appears quite a few home kits are on sale through soccernet, soccer.com, worldsoccer.

If there are any Spur fans, their home shirt is on sale for 49.99

actually i retract...it appears the 08/09s are on sale. Arsenal remains relevant b/c their kit is good for 08/10.

I used to buy blank jerseys but I won't do that anymore unless it's a vintage shirt or something.

You can never go wrong if you just buy legends like kiljadn said. I was actually wondering if anybody knows if it's even possible to find old style lettering and numbers to put on older jerseys. I want to get Cantona on that blue/white 3rd jersey I have and I want to get Shearer on a old Newcastle shirt too.

Something like this (of course the two that I want are "currently unavailable) - http://www.wiggysports.co.uk/retro_printing.html

Also, does anybody have an older Adidas jersey from like 93-94? I'm interested in one on Ebay but I was curious on if those ran big or small.

^^ I like your method a lot more. Classic jersey with a classic player's name in the style of that time. I wouldn't go personalizing a brand new 09/10 ManU jersey through the team store with Cantona's name on the back. To me that shit looks tacky as fuck, but more power to you if that's your thing.

Not seeing it in HD on Time Warner Cable.

EDIT: Nevermind. For anyone on TWC, the FSC HD channel says "OFF AIR", but it isn't. The game is on it.

Also, I agree with ^.

^^ yeah, exactly.

Which is why I'm buying jerseys of current players that will become legends - Gerrard and Messi most recently.
