^i thought about that as well, he never left a bloody mess with the other bathtub kills that we saw in the season. so your guess is as good as mine. i get the feeling Trinity didn't know about Dexter's childhood though.

The bloody mess could have been from Harrison desperately trying to get to his mother and disturbing the bloody water in the tub -- again just guessing.

I'm so glad they took out Rita, she was so annoying and hindered Dexter's character constantly. she was such a nag, when I saw that last scene I was like

I think the kids will go live with the grandmother or something so they can free up more kill time for Dexter

^ I think so, too. I think that is why they had the kids go stay with Paul's parents in that episode. There wasn't much mention of them before, but they introduced them near the end.

i think that was the point, though...the show is very heavy on character development (as most good shows are), and in order for dexter to develop as anything more than a vigilante, he HAS to have some moral and significantly personal roadblocks

she served her purpose - previously there was only dexter and he could do whatever he wanted...he was responsible to himself and only himself (i mean, he felt responsibility toward deb, too, but not in a way that curbed his killing)...rita started out as an act to seem more normal, but she and the kids became something else to him, tempered him in a way he never thought of

meh, i'll miss her because she was hot
