the show ended a lot better than the book, that's for sure. The book ending was just weird as shit for seemingly no reason except for to be weird as shit.

lol, i was thinking about reading the book. but now that I know that, maybe i won't. plus i read the wikipedia entry for the book some time ago, so i pretty much know the plot I think.

so I didn't get back into the show after that long break they had because I thought it was awful, but did they ever explain how so many people were not affected? In the book everyone was out cold, vision or no vision.

there were only a handful of people who were not affected. they had a special device which prevented them from blacking out.

FWIW, the second half was significantly better than the first half of the season - both the acting and writing imo. If you enjoyed it enough to watch ALL of the pretty craptastic first half, I'd say go ahead and watch the second half. It's only a handful more of episodes, and they really did improve.

^Yeah exactly. It was a good idea for maybe a miniseries and the show did get a lot better towards the end (to the point where I was looking forward to watching it), but you can only do "There is gonna be another blackout! We have to figure out when!" so many times.

Ending was great. Be nice if they could make a mini-series for next season just for closure. It def got better with time, and I was at the point where I was excited for the show.

just got around to watching this, and i'm kinda pissed there's not gonna be another season, or at least a 2 hour movie or something. i can only guess charlie was talking about mark in her flashforward
