i played two games before work. i'm stuck here for a little while, but hopefully i can play more tonight.

that first game i played (1-0 win) was pretty one-sided (not in my favor), and i can't believe i squeaked out a win. the second game, i felt more in control of the match and managed to lose 2-0. figures.

Started a new MM with Newcastle a few weeks back. In the Championship with $30m+ = total domination. I'm floating mid-table in my first season in the Premiership.

First thing I did, though, was to improve the shit out of my scout and negotiator. I'm signing the hell out of 20 year-olds rated in the high 70s or lower 80s. Six of my starting 11 are guys I've signed with the scout. You can make a ton of cash with the scout, too. Spend a few mil to improve him, spend half a mil to send him out, and sign guys for 2 or 3 mil that you can sell for 9 or 10. It's a bit of an exploit, but I'm gonna be super rich.

I used the scout exclusively in 09 to get new players. In 10, I've bought all my players in mm with rochdale starting in cc league 2. I don't really have the spare cash to get my scout above level 5 and I really haven't needed to. The first couple of guys that I recruited were ok stat-wise but wanted too much a week to fit my budget.

Then I figured out that it was much easier and cheaper per week to buy players. All I do is offer a player half of his market value and increase his pay-per-week so his interest level is ~75% and I haven't had a guy turn me down. I only have a level 6 negotiator, so I don't know why I should bother upgrading him when I'm saving most of my money for the transfer windows to buy new players.

I had to post because I just played the greatest game of FIFA ever.

Liverpool vs. Rochdale - 5th round of the FA Cup

I had just finished a game in the Europa League a few days earlier so some of my starters were tired/out. Liverpool had earlier bounced me from the 2nd round of the Carling Cup 3-0, so I was looking for some revenge. It started with me scoring at the 15th minute. Then Liverpool took over. Babel had some crazy bicycle kick from an Aquilani cross that tied it up and a few minutes later Torres chipped my keeper one-on-one to put them up 2-1.

At half time, I kept wondering when I would bring out my extra striker and switch to a 4-3-3 formation from the usual 4-4-1-1. Torres decided that for me when nailed a free kick from 30+ yards in the 57th minute giving them a 3-1 lead. A few minutes after the substitution, I scored making it 3-2. My hopes of tying the game were quickly dashed when Babel scored again putting them up 4-2. Incredibly enough, with the help a free kick scored from the side box by my virtual pro and some slick passing inside the box by my midfielders, I even it up 4-4.

90th minute. I was just happy being tied. Maybe I could win it in extra time or pks. As luck would have it, I got a breakaway from a through pass with one of my strikers. He was jostling with one of the Liverpool defenders for about 10 yards but maintained possession and was able to slip it past the goalie inside the box. I thought I'd just capped the greatest comeback ever, but right off of the kick-off, Torres winds up with the ball and just launches a shot from 25+ yards and curls in the upper 90 on the opposite side. Dumbstruck, I just laughed.

5-5, still the 90th minute. I figure I have one more chance from the kick-off. I get the ball down deep in the Liverpool side and was fouled by trip. 27 yards out. I hadn't unlocked the scoring 2 free kicks in a game achievement but I figured if I was going to, it was going to happen in this game. As soon as I saw where the power meter stopped, I knew it was going in. Rochdale over Liverpool 6-5.

3rd season with Rochdale. Started in League 2 now in the Championship League. My team hovers between 4 and 4.5 starts for some reason and I'm a 4.5 star manager, which is pretty good considering I was still 0.5 stars at the end of the first season because I lost my first FA cup game knocking me back 6 or 8 reputation points.

Finally brought Notts County all the way up from League 2 to the EPL.

Have yet to win the FA Cup. Closest I came was the final against Man U. Ended up losing on penalties. This last season in the Coca Cola Championship I got eliminated in Round 3.

Oh, and I still have Lol Campbell.

Yeah, I don't think I knew that the FA winner got an automatic berth. According to wiki, the last and only non-top flight team to win was in 1901, though.

And you're 1000 times the player I am if you're doing that on professional.

The trick was to come into the box on a diagonal run with the ball and you would basically score every time if you shot. Opposite upper 90 every time.

I think our league is dead. We should start a new one with teams that qualified for the World Cup.

Oh what the fuck.

So I'm running train in the EPL and in Europe with Arsenal. Have a fourth round matchup in the League Cup with Northampton and they score two goals in the first 10 minutes. I pulled one back before halftime and had possession for like 80% of the second half. I set up a beauty of a cross in the 82nd minute and put it away with a header only to be offsides. Then my last gasp attempt hit the bar and I lost 2-1!

I'm going to bring a team from Div 2... who do you guys suggest? Actually, nm, I chose Dagenham because I stayed there once when I went to England with my g/f's mother's coworker.
