Horner had a good game. Actually I can't believe I'm saying this but he's been the one bright spot on our squad this year, along with Tracy. They shut Tracy down with a triple team most of the game. All the turnovers early on killed us. Oh well, another season down. Maybe next year.

At one point in the first half we had 10 turnovers and only 9 POINTS. 2nd half was basically going through the motions with Sidney getting the technical.

if u wanna know the real reason why we lost. they shut down smith and he didn't make the tough fadeaways and jump hooks he usually makes. wood never even shot a 3 and cj shot a bunch of off balanced crap. mays was mays. javi had more turnovers than points. horner was the only one that seemed to be awoke.

uab was the fastest team we've seen all year and boy, we are a SLOW team. they could penetrate at will and got lots of open shots because of it. then they hit them. all of them. the guy they brought into the game for defense dominated the low block surprisingly and their star got a quiet twenty something.

its bad when smith is your center because he got in foul trouble so couldn't afford toplay defense and our other big was horner so he couldntplay defense anyway.

we will have lots of trouble next year unless a real center emerges defensively.

Just got back from the game. Epic failure. We absolutely could not buy a bucket in the first half. I was impressed with Julius Mays deciding to wait until the last 2 minutes of the game to drive into the lane. We loved the tech on Lowe because Tracy got mugged with no call and then we get caught with some touch foul. Also, Mays looked absolutely confused and terrified every time he looked back at the bench for instructions.

We just looked slow and passive the whole game. Not quick enough for their guards and not tough enough inside or going for loose balls. We were screaming at them to shoot when they had open looks for 3 but decided to pass it off or pump fake when they were down 20.

On the plus side, I saw a UAB band member with probably the worst homemade sign in the history of sports:

There was this kid that was in some sort of yellow and red outfit holding a sign with Lowe's NBA record on it. The other side was something about him wrestling Hogan???

Am I missing something?

^Ha yeah the guy was dressed like Hulk Hogan and had a belt. He spent most of the game just pointing at our players and flexing. Here's a few of his creative signs:

"I wrestle at birthday parties"
"Is that Dennis Horner or Eminem?"
"Blazermania is running wild brother!"
"Lowe's MBA record: 79-150" (I swear it said MBA instead of NBA)
"Tracy Smith smells like Andre the Giant"
"Sidney Lowe versus Hogan tonight!"

Of course we were graced with a Carolina fan sitting right in front of us. I'm sure they'll come out of the woodwork for the game there.
