I liked denver earlier in the season but they could have at least fought to the end, I've rarely ever seen such shitty effort at the end of an elimination game, and dantley, good god did he even coach the team tonight or just jump to the front row of the audience with a popcorn and hot dog?

and jr smith needs to understand he's a grown man getting paid millions to play basketball, this ain't high school where you can sulk and try to get attention to yourself when you aren't getting your way

The Minneapolis Lakers moved to LA

The New Orleans Jazz moved to Utah

The Charlotte Hornets moved to New Orleans

The Charlotte Bobcats are named after the teams owner.

What I didn't get was why she had the original homes of the Hornets and the Jazz... but a completely irrelevant home for the Lakes.

rough first three quarters for the cavs, the celtics were shooting lights out and the cavs were shooting something like 20%. Mo Williams is definitely going to be the x-factor in this series. He's going to have to be the secondary scorer that he was last season before Jamison and Shaq arrived, and he's going to have to defend Rondo better than he has in the first half.

Rondo has been playing great this game, the cavs need to adjust and put a body on him when he drives in the lane, he has had way to many wide open lanes once he gets past his first defender.

should be a good series, especially when they go to Boston. The Cavs have been shooting terribly this game and still have the lead, so I think that bodes well for their chances of moving on to the next round. I hate the celtics so much, its funny how I used to love Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett before they became celtics, especially Garnett, he is just a trash-talking idiot now. And dont even get me started on that drama queen Paul Pierce, hes probably my least favorite player in the league.

oh, and since I didnt get a chance to mention it earlier, I have grown to really like the Thunder after watching their series with the Lakers. They are going to be really good for the foreseeable future, and I think I may go ahead and punch my ticket for their bandwagon

one more thing, I HATE REGGIE MILLER AS A COMMENTATOR hate hate hate him

you obviously don't like the celtics but theres no need to make stuff up about shooting. the cavs are shooting better than the celtics this game so your whole analysis is just a lie.

The cavs obviously aren't going to shoot anywhere near their average against a great defensive team that also has an offense.

As long as rondo is in the game, the cavs are in trouble. The truth will get going eventually The bron is going to have to go into god mode for the cavs to win this series because boston has 4 of the best 5 players in this series.

yes, I was being facetious about the 20% shooting for the Cavs, big fucking deal, I was just getting my point across about the lopsided shooting in the start of the game. The Cavs were shooting like shit, the Celtics were making everything until they adjusted their defense to stop the easy shots in the lane

the celtics shouldve won this game, they're not going to win game 2, will probably win game 3 at home, but will wind up losing the series in 5 or 6 games.

and dammit, I got sucked in and replied to you

to start the game meaning the first 10 minutes? well you said the first 3 quarters in your post. after the 3rd qtr the cavs were shooting slightly higher than the cletics.

Tonights game couldve been a huge steal but its no big deal. Why are you so sure the cavs will win game two? pierce will certainly have a better game. The cavs have nobody they can rely on after lebron and have to pray a few guys show up each night.

cavs in 5 is not happening without a big4 injury.

shit i thought I posted this the other night but I like Cavs in 7 in round 1.

Though I could see the Cavs taking it in 6 since Boston has lost a lot of games at home this year...

I could also see Boston pulling an upset if Lebron doesn't thoroughly dominate and they continue to get great play from Rondo. Garnett and Perkins should be able to have their way on both ends down low and if Pierce/Allen can fill their roles and hit shots they'll be a tough out.

Boston's bench stinks this year though so those guys are gonna have to log some serious minutes.

Lakers-Jazz is tough because the Jazz have been playing great and Kirilenko could potentially show up halfway through the series. The Jazz have undersized big men which presents a problem against Bynum, Odom, and Gasol. Also Fesenko can't rebound and fouls constantly so he's going to get crushed in this matchup.

Deron should be able to have his way, it'll be interesting to see if they put Fisher on him since Deron's game isn't quickness or if they'll have to use Kobe again.

Kobe is going to need to shake off his awful series against the Thunder and you have to wonder if foul trouble may be an issue for him in this series. Artest's value is neutralized in this series because the Jazz don't rely on one particular wing scorer.

Ultimately, I think the stupid Brewer salary dump trade (would be guarding Kobe) and the Kirilenko injury will be too much for the Jazz to overcome.

I'll take Lakers in 7. (could see it in as little as 5 though)

I'll take Spurs in 6, Phoenix will have a couple hot nights from the field but if this team couldn't take the Spurs when they were loaded I don't see how they can do it now either. George Hill has really emerged as a solid starter, Mcdyess is hitting everything, Ginobili is still efficient, Duncan is still solid on both ends (though not dominant)... I think Blair will have trouble in this matchup as Phoenix likes to spread you out so I could see Bonner and Bogans getting more minutes than usual. Parker should go off too since Nash can't stay with him and Phoenix lacks any defensive presence around the basket.

I think Orlando will probably beat either team in 5, they are playing great basketball right now and neither team has the size to counter Howard with. Milwaukee does have some great perimeter defenders, but won't be able to generate enough offense to hang with the Magic. Atlanta is built similar to the Bobcats really, and we all saw how that series went.

I'm pulling for the spurs but george hill was only going off because dallas played barea on the floor with kidd and terry way too often. you can't stop any nba team with that lineup. I feel like dallas lost that series more than san an won it.

Boozer will be completely shut down and struggles against length anyway. He doesn't do well against the lakers. Kobe will guard williams and keep him from going crazy. Thats it. lakers in 5 or 6.

so that limp Bynum had in game 7 was him tearing his knee up a little more. I feel bad for him, healthy he would have become the best center in the game now I'm starting to think he'll be washed up before he turns 30.

Kirilenko is trying to come back in game 3, that will give them a huge lift if he can play at a high level still.

So when I placed my Magic to win the championship bet, I was refunded the $11.99 wiring fee into my account which i put on 3.5 : 1 odds Lakers over Thunder in 6. I always try to turn the wiring fee into $100, just for fun to see if I can do it. I'm about halfway there so I split it with 7 props today.

Basically, I like Bynum to play less minutes with his injury and Gasol to be the beneficiary of a few more minutes, touches, and o-rebs.

Crawford to not show up in game 7 (though his sheer # of shot attempts is tough).

Horford to attack the glass hard again.

Joe Johnson to shoot constantly and Jennings to struggle in a road game 7 (Salmons could beat me though).

Milwaukee to play slightly tougher than most expect and at least keep the game within 20 points instead of rolling over.

I like all those picks ^^^ except the Lakers winning their series. I didn't believe they could get out of the west the way they were playing at the end of the regular season, and if they are to go down it would probably be right here. Going out on a big limb here, but Jazz in 7.

I'm hoping that PHX can somehow advance, the thought of a Jazz/Spurs WCF makes me

I only got to see the end of the 2nd quarter and most of the 2nd half of the Celtics/Cavs last night, but it seemed like the refs made some close/questionable calls on Boston down the stretch where they could have swallowed the whistle if they wanted to. If Bron continues to get 30+ combined with whistles going Cleveland's way, this one is going to be short.

2-2. Crawford was on the money this game and took a lot of shots. He bailed me out though since Joe Johnson was brutal. Horford won his prop in the first half I wish i'd just stuck with that one geez 12 pts 11 rebs in the first half. Thought the bucks would put up a slightly better fight than that

5-2 today, nice. Wish I had more in the account for these easy props. That would have been a huge win for the Jazz, typical to just completely choke at the end.

Good game for Kobe, they played him really poorly though they need to help more he will kill them if he gets uncontested midrange shots all game. Gasol was an absolute monster and they have no one who can defend him until kirilenko gets back. Bynum's injury is huge, I'm hoping Utah can at least extend this series 6-7 games to put some more wear and tear on him before the West Finals.

They have got to be kicking themselves for that Ariza for Artest trade, with Ariza they'd still be the favorites in the playoffs but Artest is just a huge liability right now because you can leave him completely wide open to help on Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum and he can't even make a reasonable percentage of his wide open threes. Not to mention Ariza is in his prime and Artest is nearing the end of his career as a starter.

Odom was huge again, it's not fair to have so many great post players on one team.

Boozer really killed them down the stretch, they have to use Deron to close games going forward. I wonder if there's anyway they could play Price and Deron at the same time to cause some matchup problems for the Lakers...

there isn't really much of an argument besides anyone for lebron except maybe dwight howard, as crazy as it sounds I think howard is underrated at this point his career, orlando finished 2nd in the nba without any consistency by anyone and some questionable coaching

I do hope someone else wins it some in the near future besides lebron, a point guard would be cool, maybe durant but I hope getting shut down by strong tough guys like artest isn't a trend for him in the future

These odds seem ridiculously high I feel like I should put a nutload on them but I dont feel like overextending myself right now. 4:1 odds on SAS to win in 6 games and 6:1 odds on Cleveland to win in 7. For now I just put $25 on them but i should throw a couple hundred based on my confidence that at least one will hit.

Ton of good props out there again tonight:

1) Ray Allen to not miss a FT -260 (low attempts, great shooter, a team he shouldnt drive against)

2) Delonte West over 10.5 pts/ast (shooters are better at home, wide open looks with the attention LBJ garners, Parker shooting poorly so they will play West a lot, experience in the playoffs and good in transition)

3) Varejao under 12.5 pts/rebs (this could be a bad pick but Bos has great rebounders and they will go inside a lot tonight so potential foul trouble, no easy baskets on perk/garnett)

4) Under 14.5 3pters made in the Spurs/Phoe game. (Spurs will defend the perimeter aggressively, slow tempo, and they will score most of their points in the paint)

5) Channing Frye over 15.5 pts+reb+ast (he shoots much better at home, the Spurs big men aren't perimeter defenders Mcdyess/blair/duncan so he should get open looks, he rebounded well agianst aldridge/camby, should get a lot of minutes to space the pick/roll that spurs concentrate on defending)

6) Steve Nash over 16.5 pts. (He will prob play more than his avg of 32 minutes, SAS will have trouble with pick &roll with Amare, Nash will not defer many possessions b/c the series is too important, Spurs arent used to being spaced out this far, he will be quick to pull the trigger on open threes)

Props are way easier when you understand basketball, but you have to be diligent in your selections to offset the slightly higher juice.

^ inevitable, the roster simply isn't that good and last year's impressive playoff series gave people false expectations.

The Bulls have a flawed roster and without significant changes they'll be a middle of the pack Eastern conference team again next year.

Noah is awesome, Rose has potential, Deng is alright, and Taj was a solid find. Other than that they've got very little.

They passed on Garnett because they didnt wanna give up Deng. How's that working out for them? OUCH.

They aren't usually going to side with a coach over a GM either because coaches have to be changed every few years anyway and GM's are company men who place business ahead of basketball which owners prefer.

Fuck, I can aleady recognize one mistake I made.

Clevelands frontline is old so Varejao will get more minutes. Garnett is old so he'll get less minutes. Varejao will go up against Rasheed who is one of the weakest rebounders in NBA history. I can tell after 2-3 possesions after Varejao checked in that my bet on him was horrible. I'll have to be unreal lucky to win that.

Which is why you should stick to your day job. Tonight shows why lebron is clearly not a top 5 player
Rondo has already produced 3 wins in the first two games of the season.

On a serious note, when the games get closer (which they will at least in game 5), I hope the celtics don't let the slanted officiating take them out of the game. It felt like it was going to happen tonight but lebron didn't show up as God so it didn't matter. The cavs are so not great that Shaq is their secondary offensive option. Terrible. Also, Delonte West seems to be losing the battle with herpes. If anybody resembling paul pierce ever shows up, this could be a short series.
