Talked to the crossroads guy just now.

He couldn't tell me 100% that you can bring your own stick but he said you most likely can. The only bulletpoint on the site is "No Turbo/Rapid Fire Controllers Allowed" . He said he hasn't received the corporate guidelines for the tourney yet but go ahead and bring your own stick.

10 dollars, 1pm. Rounds will be best of 3. I'm going to try to be there. My wife is very pregnant so it'll be touch and go.

I've given up with Iron Man too. I held on to him for a while because he's strong/fast in the air and has decent projectiles (plus his level 3 hyper is probably my favorite in the game) but I can never get his launcher to connect and it's hard for me to land combos with him. Now I'm looking for an adequate replacement. If anyone has any suggestions I'm looking for a character that's more rush down focused but has a decent projectile.

You may disagree, but I would highly recommend Taskmaster. Great speed and reach, fairly simple combos for high damage (roughly 3/5 of someone's life with no assists and only 1 super meter), high mixup potential, and his projectiles can be used in any direction - even straight up. Best thing about the Legion Arrow is that with regular shots, the longer you hold down the button before firing, the more arrows are launched (up to 3 in one volley) and the higher their priority. They won't beat beam weapons, but they beat other single-shot projectiles routinely. I'd also recommend Taskmaster simply because he's a new character and people don't always know what to expect out of him depending upon how you use him. He's got counters, an unblockable, and conveniently, he's one of my favorite Marvel Comics characters since the 1980's. I've had more ridiculous comeback wins - sans X-Factor, mind you - with Taskmaster than with any other character in this entire franchise.

This may or may not be relevant, but when I played in the Smash Bros. tournament there, you were allowed to bring your own stick. The only thing was no turbo/rapid fire or wireless. I doubt they would have any problems with bringing your own stick for this too.

Yeah, but the problem with my stick is that I have to have it connected to a computer so that the controller software can work. While the interface is graphics-driven in realtime and you can see on-screen every button which is input, I doubt they'd be crazy about the idea. Wish I had known a while back that this was coming so I could've ordered a 360 adapter for my X-Arcade stick.

OK, so how did the tournament yesterday go? I know there were only 6 people who showed up, so that was pretty anticlimactic. I was there only long enough to see the first round. I absolutely wish that I had been able to play, but them's the breaks when you use custom equipment.

And HOLY SHIT...! I got the single worst beating I have ever seen in this game by a completely unexpected character: Iron Man. The guy using him touched the ground a total of 6 times (not counting the start of the match), twice per each of my characters, only long enough to initially launch and then juggle them back up into the air. The only other guy I remember on his team was Dr. Doom, and he had him using his plasma beam assist to keep my guys pinned airborne in the corner long enough to allow Iron Man to re-launch. It was hands down the most precise control I've ever seen of a character, and I didn't think that Iron Man could even do such ridiculous midair juggles. I'm talking like 100+ hit combos each time, and I saw absolutely no way to prevent or escape.

Ghost Rider does look impressive. Moderately excited about Hawkeye and Frank West. Kind of an odd lineup of characters, though, when there are bound to be others which fans would rather have seen instead.

I'm gonna go ahead and bet now that Sentinel is going to get de-nerfed with this new version.

A friend of mine just gave me some cards and I was wondering if there was anyone here who could possibly tell me anything about it.

It's a pack from the Avengers Kree-Skrull War and the card I have a question about is a Artist Sketch Card. (slightly rare?) Looks like they threw in an original (1 of 1) art work into one of every 72 packs.
