maybe this means staal was demoted to the third line.
Funny story from the game... Carcillo ran mcbain, mcbain dodged the check but carcillo caught a little bit of him. But all it served to do was whip his torso forward, and carcillo face planted into the glass. He smashed the fuck out of his nose, grabbed it and skated to the bench. It was awesome. What a dumb ass 10/29/2011 1:24:57 AM |

this is all fun to talk about and everything, but do you really think Rutherford would ever get rid of Staal? No fucking way. JR has shown how loyal he is to fan favorite, "face of the team" type players (i.e. Larose) 10/30/2011 8:20:55 AM |

I wonder how long Bobby Boucher will continue as our backup. I'm hoping he can pull through. If we are going to continue to forecheck with offensive defensemen we need to make sure every breakaway doesn't go in when Ward is resting. I thought Boucher Played great for two periods but them he lost all confidence just like that. He was way out of position for Jagr's backhander 10/30/2011 10:24:02 AM |

It's curious to me the road that Lecavallier has taken and the road that Eric Staal might end up taking...
Stamkos comes in and is the new hot stuff in town, Lecavallier takes a smaller offensive roll on the team as he becomes a more mature player.
Skinner comes in and is obviously the new hot stuff in town (the kid plays amazing hockey!), and Staal... granted, once again, he's playing with Tlusty and LaRose... I'm wondering if he'll ever get to 90+ points again.
Thus concludes our random thought. 11/1/2011 8:40:50 PM |

^ AFAIK Buffalo is the only one to play the audio immediately after the goal. After Pegula bought the team mid last season, they took suggestions from fans on how to make the game day experience better, that was one of the clear winners.
I'd like to see this expanded to other markets. It is real awesome live. 11/2/2011 12:24:51 AM |

per chip, Jokinen has had 2 MRIs and they "dodged a bullet"
Maurice said he's "close" to being week-to-week. So I guess we may see him sooner than 4 weeks. 11/3/2011 4:43:17 PM |

^closer to day to day now
Quote : | "Canes forward Jussi Jokinen will not be sidelined as long as first feared, coach Paul Maurice said today. Jokinen injured his left leg early in the third period of Tuesday's game against Tampa Bay, and general manager Jim Rutherford said Wednesday Jokinen would be out at least three to four weeks. But Maurice said Jokinen, the team's second-leading scorer, had two MRI exams and the results Wednesday night revealed he was not seriously injured. Maurice said Jokinen's status was closer to "day to day" than "week to week" and that Jokinen might be able to skate some on his own as soon as Friday. "It was really good news," Maurice said. "He's feeling a lot better today. We caught a break there because when you look at it on video, boy, it looks like it's a season-ender. We dodged a bullet there." Jokinen fell backward over Tampa Bay's Ryan Shannon, pinning his leg under Shannon's body as he fall. "He wasn't just dealing with one thing. He was sore in a couple of spots," Maurice said of Jokinen. "Either one of them if it was very significant could have been long-term. "He came in this morning and there wasn't nearly the swelling they expected. He was in great spirits."

Well, Bowman proving himself worthy of top minutes would be great too, but I meant Dalpe... I'm assuming he won't be down in Charlotte long and will take Boychuk or Bowman's spot on the roster (and hopefully a 2nd or 3rd line slot) when he gets done with this conditioning stint.11/3/2011 9:04:17 PM |
