But seriously, I for some reason get MASN (in Charlotte?!?) so I watch a good bit of Harper. I'm no scout, but this guy is going to be very good for a very long time. We're talking possibly 30-100-.300 as soon as next season, at 20. He walks at a good rate, has good if not great speed, and bust his ass every play like its his last. At his peak in his mid to late 20s, I could realistically see him averaging 40+ bombs with an OPS north of 1000.

Trout, I really only see on highlights. But I see him as a better defender and hitter for average right now, and he's definitely faster. Harper tries to kill every ball; Trout lets the game come to him. But they're both already borderline elite, and barring injury will be in every all star game until 2025.

here are some facts about R.A. Dickey:

- he warms up to the game of thrones theme
- he names his bats after Hrunting, the blade given to Beowulf which he used to slay Grendel's mother, and Orcrist the Goblin Cleaver, the legendary elvish sword used by Thorin Oakenshield in the hobbit
- he can't have tommy john surgery because he doesn't have that ligament
- he climbed mt kilamanjaro in the offseason

R.A. Dickey rules

Miami Tampa in the 15th inning

3rd extra innings game of the day

and as a side note that only I care about, 2 of my fantasy team's outfielders, Bryce Harper and Giancarlo Stanton, are both / both went 0/7 today

^ Buck Showalter convinced him to develop that knuckler. I think Dickey has just started to truly master it after working with it the past 1.5 seasons. GG to him. I hate the Mets, but Dickey seems like a pretty solid guy. Plus watching a good knuckle ball pitcher frustrate hitter is like watching a fat white guy draining 3s in a gym full of showboating kids.

Heard a few commentators last night saying they think because he throws the knuckle a good bit harder than others have that he can actually control where its going

start by being born without a UCL, then develop a knuckleball with a modified knuckle-change grip that has slider/hard curve movement with no spin at 78-81 MPH, then throw that pitch along with the traditional knuckleball, changeup and fastball all with the same motion from the same arm slot.

he'll spend the rest of his life trying to teach that pitch to someone else, and no one will be able to do it

1st off, are we really at a point where teams are making up throwback jerseys?

Secondly, Trout is going to be one of the greatest of all time

i mean, i guess? even though this is only 1 team making up a throwback jersey. it's funny for obvious reasons. plus, these are the kinds of things their marketing department has to come up with to get people to travel to that shitty, out of the way stadium.

Funny blown "catch" call in the Yankees game last night. A fucking fan holds the ball up five feet from the player...who never shows the ball in his hand or glove after falling in the stands. Pretty big brain fart by the ump in that one.
